{17} Tomb Visit

If Stefan thought I wasn't coming to see him at the tomb then he was dead wrong. I wasn't just going to leave him there, especially not with Katherine Pierce. Katherine had ruined his and Damon's lives. She had messed with them to this very day. You think she would have gotten her fill and moved on, but she clearly hasn't. I could feel how elated she was to see Stefan stuck in there with her. Now she didn't have to go through all of the trouble of finding him to mess with him.

As I got closer to the opening of the tomb, I could hear two voices. One was Stefan, "Stay out of my head." I heard him say.

"Maybe I can do eternity in here after all." That was definitely Katherine all right. I could hear how much she was smirking after she said that. It seems like she had already started with the mind games that she loved so much.

I scoffed, "Do you know when to stop?" The answer was simple, she didn't. She was going to keep pushing people's buttons until she died. I wouldn't be surprised if that was how she died... She ended up pissing off the wrong person and it set them off enough to kill her.

The two of them were finally able to see me as I stepped in front of the entrance of the tomb. Stefan's head whipped over to look at me with wide eyes, "Charlotte..."

Katherine sauntered up close to where the barrier of the tomb was, "Well, well, if it isn't Charlotte," I just stared at the woman instead of answering her. I could already tell where this conversation was going, "Oh, you're just not gonna listen to me," Katherine shrugged, "Alright. I got something for that."

Before I could even register what was happening, Katherine appeared behind Stefan. She had an arm wrapped around his neck and a wooden stake aimed at his heart. Where did she even get the stake?! I didn't see anything broken in the tomb. It must've been away from sight if you were standing where I was. Without even thinking about it, I made the dumbest mistake I could have ever made. I ran right into the tomb.

"Charlotte, do-" Stefan cut himself off when he saw that it was already done. There was no turning back now. I was already inside. I kicked the stake out of Katherine's hands, making sure not to accidentally hurt Stefan, and then tackled the girl on the ground.

"You bitch!" I yelled at her.

A laugh came from the brunette, "Why are you yelling at me for? You chose to come in here," I got up off of her, but still glared with as much fierceness as I could. Katherine looked me over and smirked. She looked me right in the eyes. "You know... You reminded me of someone just then..."

"Don't care," I stated. I leaned against the wall nearest to me with my arms crossed. From the corner of my eyes, I could see Stefan standing off to the side as he looked between the two of us. I could tell that he was thinking about whether or not he should step in yet.
