STEFAN HAD DRUG ME OUT TO THE WOODS, telling me to just follow him. He had never given me reason to doubt him before, so why would I doubt him now? We walked in a comfortable silence until we heard footsteps behind us: Elena. We continued to walk, letting her believe that she was being stealthy. When in reality, she was the loudest human on the face of the earth at the moment. Stefan and I walked until we came upon a well. Does this have something to do with the moonstone?
"What's going on?" The familiar female voiced asked, as she leaned against a tree for a moment to catch her breath, before approaching us.
"Elena-" I started, probably to tell her that this was dangerous and that she should leave it to Stefan and I, but instead Stefan spoke before the words could flow from my mouth.
"You shouldn't be here," Stefan said in a concerned, yet understanding tone. Uh, no... Let my best friend die just to go through with our crazy vampire shenanigans? I don't think so. Why is he so calm about this? What if we went to take on Mason Lockwood, or Katherine Pierce? Or the Mikaelson family myth? If they were real I don't know what I'd do, from what I've heard they probably kill me on sight...
"I know, but I am. What's going on?" Elena asked, looking at the well with us. Well, since she's here and offering assistance, I guess we could use that to our advantage.
"Bonnie thinks the moonstone is down here," Stefan explained, looking between Elena and the well. He gestured to me and I pulled the lock off with my bare hands, taking the grating off the top of it. Stefan gabbed a big flashlight and looked down there before sighing and looking at Elena. He hopped up onto the well as Elena handed him the flashlight.
"Hey. Be careful," Elena said to him, looking serious.
"I'll only be down there for a minute," Stefan explained, "You know what to do if anything happens." That last part was for me. Stefan really wanted to protect this girl, I figured that part out early on. Stefan jumped in as Elena and I watched, her holding her breath until he plopped down into the well safely. I watched as he pressed himself up against the wall and worried. "Char, Elena!" He yelled.
"Stefan?!" Elena called out for us.
"What's wrong?" I yelled back, watching him squirm in the water.
"Elena!" Stefan yelled, leaving out my name this time.
"Stefan, what's happening?!" Elena called out, frantic. I want to calm her down, but right now my main focus is Stefan and trying to figure out what is happening to him. I watch as he tries to climb out, and that's when I notice red welts on his arm... Vervain. "What's going on in there?!"
