The Babtism

"Hey are you sure you don't want me to come with you today?" Jonah asked as Emily started walking to where Pedro would be. "Yes I'll be fine,and I have a feeling it would be better to go alone." Emily said. "Okay see you at twelve for lunch." Jonah said. "K see you then."

Emily had prayed her heart out last night about today, she hoped the answer was a yes.

"Hey Pedro." Emily said as she walked up. "hola annoying chica who keeps coming back no matter what." Pedro said. "Well you know who else keeps coming back for us?" Emily asks. "Let me guess, God." Pedro says.

"Yes but at some point there is no coming back. Like me  leaving for home in a couple weeks, I may not come back and maybe I'm the only one who will tell you of Christ. After our death there is no coming back there is not another chance. But if you except Christ then there is eternal life in the place of death. We gain life from Christ dying on the cross but we have to accept the gift in order to gain the rewards. Yes, there may be hardship but in the end it's worth it." Emily said.

"Okay come back tomorrow." Pedro said. "Why Pedro? Why will you not listen once? at the begining you seemed interested and then the next day you came backing wanting me to leave and not wanting to hear a word of what I say." Emily said calmly. "My family would not except me if I did believe." Pedro said quitly. "But Pedro when you accept you have and eternal family and an earthly family not just earthly. I would be family Jonah,Catherine,Bobby, and the whole Church would be your family." Emily said. Pedro looked down. "You should leave so you can meet your friends for lunch." "Would you like to join us?" Emily asked. Pedro looked around as if searching for somone and smiled for the first time. "Yeah, I would like that."

"Hey guys I brought a guest!" Emily called when she saw Jonah,Catherine, and Bobby. "Hey Pedro!" Jonah called. "Glad to have you." "Thanks." Pedro said. "You've met everybody right?" Emily asked double checking. "Yes you introduced them to me on the first day you guys came out."

"So Pedro if you want to continue our conversation we can or we can talk about something else." Emily said. "Well I would like to ask you a question about earlier." Pedro said slowly. "What did you mean when you said the Church would be my family? Is that just the Church I go to would it be your Church?" Pedro asked confused."Well, the Church is the believers, not a building." Emily said. "So why do you go to Church?" Pedro asked. "That's a good question Pedro one I struggled with. We go to Church to have fellowship with other believers because we can't face the world on our own or it will pull us down." Bobby said. "I think i understand." Pedro said. "It takes a little getting used to." Catherine said.

Over the next few days Emil would talk to Pedro and hen bring him to lunch and he started to ask more and more questions about Christianity.

"I have an anouncement." Pedro said obviously excited. "I have made the decision o follow Christ and have ayed with Emily about it." "That's great!" Jonah said almost as excited as Pedro. "Awesome!" said Catherine tearing up and giving Pedro a hug. "That's great news." said Bobby stuffing more rice in his mouth. That was Bobby's way of showing excitement."Pedro has also decided to get babtized tonight." Emily said. "And Pastor Rob was given permission to fly in to do it!"

The group celebrated a little longer but Catherine,Emily,Bobby, and Jonah had to get back to the complex for a group devotional. They invited Pedro to come too but he said he had to do some stuff before his babtism. Everyone couldn't wait!
