Iris's POV
Sacrifice? As in they're going to cut me open and eat my guts. No no no! I'm not ready to die. I'd rather go through the rest of my life being beaten than die at the hands of wolves. Tears welled up in my eyes and I tried my best to make sure that they didn't fall. The alpha wouldn't approve.
"Yes, if the wolves refuse to help us, you will be the one that will pay," he confirmed my fate. I shook my head in disbelief.
Through my tears, I saw him flicked his hand at the guards. They grabbed me from behind. I screamed and tried to squirm away, but their grip was strong. Everything went black as blindfold was pulled over my eyes. My hands were bound with what felt like rope. Tears streamed down my face and I tasted their saltiness on my lips.
The alpha growled again. "Get her to the trucks." he commanded, and the guards began to drag me away.
"Please don't do this!" I begged. "I'll be better, I promise!"
"Could one of you please shut her up?!" Alpha Weston exclaimed from behind us.
"No!" I screamed before the man on my left tied a gag around my mouth. It dug into the back of my neck. Why me, why me, why me? The question repeated over and over in my brain. It wasn't my fault that I was the weakest, that I was a mistake.
Suddenly we stopped. They grabbed underneath my armpits and hurled me into the back of what I assumed was a truck. I landed hard on my left arm. I heard something snap and my wrist erupted in burning pain. I cried out, but it was muffled by the gag.
The guards climbed in after me and the door slammed shut. The truck rumbled to life underneath me, making my wrist sting more. I hissed and tried to control my panicked breathing. A wail escaped my lips. Someone kicked me in the skull because of the noise. My eyes drifted closed and I was forced into a painful slumber.
