Titans POV

"There they are!" my best friend, Darien exclaimed, pointing a finger ahead of us. I followed his gaze to see four dark blobs in the distance. "Those are the Werecats!"

He looked at me giddily, waiting for instruction. I closed my eyes for a moment, trying to think of a strategy. I sighed through my nose. "Ok, we split up, you go left, I go right, then we meet in the middle and see what they want."

He bounced on his heels. "Should I shift?"

I raised an eyebrow. "Yes, of coarse." And with that he pulled off his t-shirt and shorts, leaving him in nothing but boxers.

Suddenly the boy behind us spoke up. "What should I do?" he asked eagerly. He was only in second class scout training.

"Go warn the alpha," I commanded. "He must know of this immediately." The rookie nodded and took off running towards the pack house.

I turned to Darien. "And you," I pointed a finger at him. "Go into the forest and shift before I see anything I don't need to see." Gesturing to his nether regions.

Darien blushed and took off into the forest, waiting for the sign to attack. I sighed and pinched the bridge of my nose. This was ridicules, we shouldn't be freaking out over some people that smell slightly of Werecats. It could be something totally different. Still, they are intruders on our territory, and intruders don't usually get off that easily.

I started off into the forest. I stopped a few hundred meters into the bush and pulled off my clothes. I stuffed them into a plastic baggy and tied them to a tree so they would be safe. I crouched and began. The bones in the my back began to shift and crack as I changed. Black fur sprouted along my skin, fangs replacing my normal teeth.

I wagged my tail and stretched my legs, making sure everything was still in place.

Mate! My wolf, Colten, said almost immediately.

I shook my head in astonishment. I had given up finding a mate years ago.

Mate! He repeated excitedly.

My heart started to beat faster. Where? I demanded. Where is she?

My wolf growled. With the Werecats up on the hill. And she's been hurt.

I growled out loud. Nobody hurts my mate! I raised my head and howled as long and loud as I could, then sprang off into the forest, knowing that I would finally be with her.
