Iris's POV

I jolted up and gasped for breath. My body shook violently. Pain snaked along my limbs as the memories of yesterday came flooding back. I was no longer bound and gaged. The alpha was dead.

I looked around the room, trying find out where I was, when someone came in my line a view. His black hair was unkept and messy. The mans face was hard as he glared at me, but worry was noticeable in his light grey eyes. His t-shirt revealed his toned muscles and I tried not to gap at his handsomeness.

He suddenly closed the space between us with inhuman speed. I gasped as he loomed over me.

"Please d-don't hurt m-me." I cried. His expression softened and he grabbed my good hand. His touch was electric and I knew immediately that this man was my mate.

"No one here will hurt you ever again." His voice was deep and careful. Then his face hardened and he looked away.

Was he going to reject me? "Please," I begged, trying to look into his eyes. "Please don't reject me."

He looked down at me again. He tucked a loose piece of hair behind my ear and leaned in so our noses almost touched. "I will never leave you." He whispered, then lightly pressed his full lips against mine. His touch warmed me, making me shivered as he pulled away.

He looked at me, concerned. "Are you cold?"

I nodded and felt another violent shake go through me. He straightened himself and yelled. "Darien! Get in here!" A short boy about my mates age burst into the room. His sandy hair framed his hazel eyes.

"Yes, sir?" He asked excitedly, then eyed me cautiously.

"Get the fluffiest, warmest blanket in this building, stat!" My mate commanded, then set the man, Darien, running.

As I lied there for a moment, it hit me. I didn't even know my mates name! I tried to speak but my voice cracked and a strangled gurgle came out. He noticed and rushed across the room, grabbed something from a table in the corner, then came over to me. "Water?"

I nodded and he raised a flask to my lips. The liquid burned my parched throat for a moment, and I felt it slide down to my belly. I sighed in relief when he pulled away and let me try again. "What is your name?"

His eyes widened in horror. "Aw man I'm an idiot! I didn't even tell you my freakin name!" He shook his head in disgust of himself, than looked back at me. His eyes burned into my soul as he talked. "You can call me Titan."
