Your Perspective
"Ah, are you completely certain that there is nothing else you need to have looked at or explained?" Yanfei asked inquisitively. I shook my head and thanked her for her help with analyzing the contract. She smiles and asks if she can spend the rest of the day with me.
"I don't see why not. You have no other clients to attend to?" I ask the Adpeti Lawyer. She shakes her head vigorously, giving me her signature joyous smile that I've come to deeply appreciate.
"Nope! My schedule dictates that I have plenty of free time to spend with you." She says, pulling out a notebook and showing it to me. I chuckle at this and hold up my hands in defeat. Yanfei happily grabs onto my arm at this and nuzzles it. I pat her on the head to which she adorably and happily sighs in response.
"Very well. What do you want to do then?" I ask my fellow adepti. Yanfei thinks by tilting her head back and forth before a smirk crosses her face and she turns to look at me.
"Perhaps we can chat over some tea? Maybe that ought to wake you up some more." She says pointing at the bags under my eyes. I calmly move her hand away from my face before telling her it's a long story. I motion for her to follow me to the kitchen and she does though with a noticeable . . . uh . . . energy? pep? A noticeable pep to her stride. Regardless, it seems that Yanfei is rather happy when she spends time with me. Yanfei comes over after picking out the type that she wanted and handed it to me. After a few minutes of boiling water and we're sitting at the table and happily chatting away. Eventually, she brings up the topic of something that happened last week.
"Soooo I heard that a certain someone got asked out hm?" Yanfei says teasingly. I shrug and told her I wasn't too interested in dating that person at the moment. Not my type to be honest, and I have someone else on my mind, but I don't tell her who I have on my mind, after all, I'm not sure if the person likes me in return, so I must air on the side of caution. I don't want to reveal my hand too early to her, only when I'm ready and definitely not in this setting.
"Why not? I thought you'd be interested in Xingxi." She said nonchalantly. I shook my head once more, with this action getting her attention and she eagerly leaned on the table, waiting for me to tell her who I had in my sight. I dodged the question multiple times which she repeatedly asked in return. She's a tenacious one at that. But her lack of environmental awareness and her surroundings saved me from answering her question. One little nudge led to her causing her to spill her tea all over herself and the floor. She screams in shock at this.
"Looks like fate dictates that my interests remain a secret today." I say, chuckling at Yanfei sheepishly and embarrassedly trying to clean up her mess. After a few minutes, I eventually decide to help her out, using my hydro vision to extract the water and put it elsewhere. A grateful smile crosses Yanfei's Face after we finish our clean-up. Though we ended up being a lot closer to each other than we started, inches part. My heart cannot take this, it's beating so fast from our closeness;
"Thanks, (Y/N). I appreciate the help." Yanfei tells me quietly, her face red and the area around her rising in temperature. Does she? I shook the thought of my head and focused my attention back on Yanfei, patting her on the head and saying there was no reason to thank me, I was just helping.
"I will be here to help, whether it be with the spills or greater problems. Okay?"
"Heh, yeah. Thank's a lot (Y/N)." says Yanfei even quieter than the last time. She shakes herself out of her shock before continuing her conversation with me.
