Your Perspective
"And what of this fragrance? I believe this machination of mine has simply outdone my previous one no?! Is its coloration not brilliant in addition to that?" I said, holding out the potion to Emilie who just . . . scrunched up her face in disgust. The vial contained a rather interesting concoction I had devised by mixing a few of my most potent potions. Its effects are yet to be tested, but if all goes well I will have devised an incredibly potent healing elixir.
"It reeks of death. Frankly to call this . . . abomination's scent . . . a perfume is an insult to us fragrance creators." Emilie exclaimed, aghast at my insinuation. I chuckled at her reaction, making light of her opinion regarding my potion.
"What can I say? I work not in the profession of scents but merely require those particulars to make my work a little more manageable for those with less of an iron stomach as to myself!" I proclaimed proudly. Emilie merely rolled her eyes at my continued proclamations of pride, but couldn't bring herself to avoid smiling at my antics.
"Darling, I am aware that you take your profession of a . . . what was it you called it again?" Emilie asked teasingly, putting a finger to her chin in contemplation. As her husband, she knew I was always one to speak with conviction and eagerness when it came to talking about what I do.
"My occupation has no one name. In a nation such as Natlan-"
"A right, I recall you to be a Plague Doctor of sorts . . . It is a dying profession but I admire your continued pursuit of it. Nonetheless, if you require aid in making your potions have a more pleasing fragrance to the nose, simply ask and I will be eager to help you. Now then . . . I believe some quality time is in order no?" Emilie smiled dreamily as she walked into my embrace, catching me off guard briefly before I regained my footing and picked her up.
"Ah, mon cheri, be that is it may, I still wish to eke out my name and restore the people's faith in plague doctors, even in times where the plague itself is not present. Your continued support of me warms my heart to this very day. Tis but one of the myriads of reasons for my continued love and adoration for you." I said twirling her around, earning a soft laugh from Emilie. Even though the nature of our meeting was due to both our services being required by various facets of law enforcement . . . I would reckon neither of us quite regret where we ended up now. Even though our start was quite rocky, our marriage has been rather loving as it stands.
"Now with that out of the way, might I suggest you go bathe yourself before we continue? Your clothes are stained with that affront of a mixture." She said pushing me towards the washroom and snapping me out of my state of reminiscence.
-Timeskip brought by one of (Y/N)'s potions causing Emilie to faint-
"Darling, you look exhausted . . . Have they requested you on clean-up duty again?" Emilie asked, aiding me in taking off my cap and my cloak.
"I suppose you could say so. At least my services are needed and welcome, if not a little morbid. No better man than me for the job!" I replied with pride. Emilie just sighed and shook her head, a small smile present across her features. A quick peck on the lips was enough to reinvigorate me immediately. Next my beloved led me to the living room where she had prepared me a meal to eat and some tea knowing I would more than likely be famished. Archons bless this wonderful woman.
"Oh, I heard you happened to cross paths with the Traveler, did you not? What were they like?" Emilie asked, pouring herself a cup of tea bringing it to her lips, and taking a soft sip, enjoying both the flavor and the aroma I presume.
