Ji Yunhe had a good sleep during the day. The new maid who delivered the food was quiet and left quickly after setting up the table. Changyi came over to patrol as usual and watched her obediently finish her meal, then he also left without saying a word.

Two living people had come and gone without any signs of life. Ji Yunhe began to miss that troublemaker, Jiang Weiyan.

She dismantled the black bed curtain used to block out light and sewed herself a large cloak. It was very handsome and heroic.

Looking through the window, Ji Yunhe saw the snow had stopped tonight. The moon was visible for thousands of miles with no wind or clouds, a perfect time to enjoy some moonlight.

Nothing blocked her hand when she reached out to test the magic seal. But when she tried to poke her head out of the window, blue runes appeared.

The hand could reach out and the head could not, how generous of him.

Ji Yunhe smiled and black gas danced at her fingertips.

She was not sure if she could break through Changyi's seal, but if she did, she would have to run as fast as she could to the snow covered mountains in the distance. Once there, she might be able to hide. By then she would likely never see any old friends again.

Ji Yunhe looked back at the empty room and took a deep breath. If her life had reached a near limit, then let her be selfish for once.

After the decision was made, Ji Yunhe summoned the power in her body and nine black tails appeared. With a gesture of her fingers, black gas condensed inside her palm and she pressed it against the blue seal on the window.

Boom! The whole pavilion shook and sounds of alarmed servants came from outside.

The blue seal resisted for a moment then broke under her strike.

Ji Yunhe released her palm immediately. She already felt weak just from dealing this one blow, her body could not afford any more exertion.

And she knew Changyi would feel it as soon as the seal broke, so she had to move fast.

Without further delay, Ji Yunhe stepped onto the window sill and jumped, her cloak flying out behind her like the wings of an eagle. She soared against the bitter cold, breaking countless invisible chains that tied her to the room, and headed straight for the moon and stars.

The servants flooded out into the courtyard as soon as she jumped.

Some were surprised by the nine tails behind her, some were shocked that she dared to break the seal, and some shouted to inform the lord.

But Ji Yunhe did not even look at them. She stepped over several rooftops and disappeared, leaving a garden full of people in panic.

The wind was strong and turned her face red in no time, but Ji Yunhe felt amazing.

The stuffiness that had sat with her for six years scattered and dissipated into the wind. Ji Yunhe looked at the moon and the distant mountains and was overjoyed. Even the chest pain from running did not make her feel any discomfort, only excitement.

Alive. Yes, she was still alive.

She ran all the way to the shore and looked around, there was still no one chasing after her. The lake was frozen over with a thick layer of ice, she stepped onto it and continued running for the mountains.
