Bucky walked into the kitchen of the compound "Hello, anyone home?". He walked into the centre of the kitchen. Pepper peeped her head around the corner "Bucky hi! What on earth are you doing here?" she walked into the room and sat down at the kitchen island.

"I wanted to check to see if Aurora was here, since she disappeared from Wakanda," He explained "I want to make sure she is safe,".

Pepper nodded and motioned for him to sit down "Yeah she's here Bucky and safe, I'm pretty sure she is asleep right now, but you could probably see her when she wakes up,". Pepper had always loved the girl and treated her like a daughter she never had.

"That's great thanks, I don't think I will stay for long since i'm probably not meant to be here with the Accords and all," He joked lightly "Just don't tell Tony,".

Pepper smiled at him "Tony isn't here right now and you can stay here as long as you want as long as i'm concerned,".

Rhodey walked into the room "As long as you don't go Winter Soldier on us," He joked and the paused "Too soon?".

"No your good Rhodes," Bucky smiled slightly- the Winter Soldier was still a really sensitive topic for him but they didn't need to know that.

Pepper looked out the window watching the stars in the night sky glisten "Wanda and Vision should be back soon,".

"Wanda and Vision?" Bucky asked.

"Yeah they go away quiet a lot together but they have to come back monthly for check in's," Rhodey explained.

"Are they...you know a thing?". Bucky looked at the two people in front of him, weren't Aurora and Wanda still technically together even if they hadn't seen or heard from each other in years?

"I don't think so, I think they are really good friends though," Pepper answered.

"Friends with benefits?" Rhodey poured himself a glass of water.

"EW RHODEY," Pepper laughed.

"What is a friends with benefits?" Pepper, Rhodey and Bucky turned around to see Vision and Wanda standing behind them.

"Hey guys," Wanda put her bag down before walking over to the 3 of them.

"Hey Wanda and Vision," Pepper pulled Wanda into an awkward hug.

"Oh um thanks Pepper," Wanda frowned slightly noticing the strange vibe in the room.

"What have we missed while we have been away?" Vision asked sitting down next to Pepper at the island.

Bucky, Pepper and Rhodey gave each other worried glances. Wanda and Vision both noticed this but shook it off.

"NOTHING," Pepper squeaked.

"Okay.." Wanda turned to Bucky smiling at him "It's um good to see you Bucky," she put her hand out for him to shake it. He looked at her and smiled before returning the handshake "It's good to see you guys too,".

Vision cleared his throat "So we were thinking to stay here a couple of days to give our stuff a good clean before we go back?".

"Yeah should be good guys," Rhodey nodded.

There was an awkward tension in the room and Rhodey, Pepper and Bucky kept giving each other strange looks. Wanda couldn't take it anymore so she blurted out slightly annoyed "WHAT IS UP WITH YOU GUYS?".

Everyone looked at each other- no one quite knowing what to say.

"Shit,"

A thud came from behind the group from something hitting the floor. Wanda turned around to see a very familiar figuring bending down to pick up the cup.

"Sorry I dropped my cup," Aurora hadn't even noticed who was in the room. She stood back up and finely got a good look at everyone. Her eyes went wide with shock.

"Hey Wands,".

A blank expression covered Wanda's face, she couldn't believe who was looking back at her. Wanda slowly walked towards the girl stopping just in front of her.

"Aurora?"

The rest of the room was in silence, Pepper looked funnily at Rhodey and then at Bucky before looking the the red android who just sat there looking at the two girls.

The first thing Wanda noticed about Aurora was how old she looked- her eyes didn't have that same spark anymore, they looked dull and lost. She then looked at the scar down the girl's right eye.

"Your hair...... It's short, and darker," Wanda stood awkwardly in front of Aurora.

"Yeah I fancied a change," Aurora looked down shyly, her and Wanda were different- they felt awkward and forced.

The only two people in the kitchen were Wanda and Aurora- everyone else had gone to bed.

Avoiding eye contact with Wanda, Aurora grabbed herself a new glass out of the cupboard and got some water.

"Aurora what happened to you?" Wanda had noticed Aurora wincing and clutching her stomach whenever she moved around. Aurora avoiding answering the question properly pointed at her scar on her eye "Oh this? Pretty cool isn't it? It's noting major don't worry about it,". She started wandering towards the couch.

Wanda blocked her "No not that,".

"I don't know what your on about Wanda," Aurora tried to walk past the girl but failed. Wanda quickly grabbed the bottom of Aurora's shirt and pulled it up revealing her stomach.

Wanda gasped slightly, she looked at all the scars on Auroras stomach along with the stitched up gash "Rory," she whispered, Wanda traced her hand over Auroras stomach feeling all the scraps and scars. Aurora pulled her top down abruptly stepping away from Wanda.

"Aurora what happened to you? Your different," Wanda's eyes glistening with tears tried to hug her but Aurora pulled away from her. 

"Of course I'm different Wanda, being on the run and away from everyone I love for 2 years does that to a person," Aurora snapped at her, turning away to walk upstairs.

"Why didn't you come back to me, for me?"
