Arriving home that day was the same as any other. But this time, he received an question that he never would have expected his parents to ask. He felt scared, yet disrespected and annoyed.
Stepping through the door with a smile on his face for once because of his first friend he had made.
What about Mark? Of course Donghyuck considers him a friend, but anybody who trains basically know of each other.
Yeji was the first real friend he's actually made by himself and not because she so happened to train with his father.
But his smile was soon wiped off his face when his papa called him to the living room.
There sat Ten who had a confused expression on his face, Johnny who stared skeptically at his son's clothing, and Jisung who smiled nervously.
Donghyuck felt his legs become numb because of the tension in the room, his legs feeling wobbly.
"Sit down, Donghyuck," Ten ordered and Donghyuck did so.
"Am I in trouble?" Donghyuck asked in a quiet voice.
Ten and Johnny shook their heads.
"Donghyuck, are you confused?" Johnny asked straightforwardly. He just want to get this conversation over with.
Donghyuck squinted his eyes in confusion and his parents stared cluelessly at him.
"Confused?"
"Yes, are you confused Hyuckie?" Ten asked this time.
"What do you mean?" Donghyuck questioned, he glanced over at Jisung who just sat silently.
"Are you confused about your gender or sexuality?" Ten asked gently, trying to figure out a way to approach his son.
Donghyuck continued to stare blankly. He wasn't sure if he knew what his parents were talking about...
Who is he kidding? Of course he knows.
"Donghyuck, you're a boy. You know that right?" Johnny asked before his son could answer, Ten slapping his husbands arm.
Donghyuck felt anger building inside, but tried to control it by laughing nervously, a habit he does when he feels uncomfortable when people talk to him.
Is he indirectly saying that he would be extremely disapproving and disgusted if Donghyuck was a girl?
Donghyuck felt saddened and upset. There are people who aren't accepted in the world and he doesn't want to be one of them. Nobody should have to go through anything like that.
It's not your fault on who you love or who you aspire to become.
It's a heartbreaking situation to not be accepted, Donghyuck could only imagine how bad some people have it, he sympathizes for them.
If Donghyuck were ever to have children when he gets older, he would be one hundred percent accepting and love them no matter what.
"O-of course I know. Isn't that obvious?" The thirteen year old shot back with a nervous chuckle.
Johnny only nodded without saying anything and stood up to leave the room. But of course without saying anything first.
"Change out of those clothes, we're going to train now," Johnny demanded before leaving.
