"Here's your keys ma'am. Your next appointment will be in two weeks." The lady at the front desk of the hospital said to me.

I walked out the front door to my newly fixed jeep. You would have never known I had been in any sort of accident. I hopped in the car and started it. The doctor told me I was able to drive even with this heavy cast on my left wrist. I was kinda nervous to drive with just one hand but when I pulled out of the parking lot it was easier than expected.

I started driving with no certain destination. I looked at my phone and it was just turning 1 so I decided to go get some lunch. I pulled into Burger King and decided to go in and eat since I had no where to stay for the rest of the day.

I walked in and got in line. There were two people in front of me some guy who looked about 20 and and older man. When it was my turn to order I ordered and stepped to the drink machine to get my drink. I got my usual Dr. Pepper and spun around to wait for my food to be ready. As soon as I turned around I ran into a tall guy and spilt my drink on my shoes and the floor. "Shit." I mumbled to myself. "Gosh I'm so sorry. This is all my fault. Let me get you some napkins."the guy said. He was tall and was wearing kakis and black vans with blue eyes and brown hair.

I had my natural long, curly hair since I had just left the hospital and the same clothes I had on when I left Michael's.

The guy came back. "Here you go. Let me help you." He said. I looked up holding my hand out for the napkins. "Thank you. Wait J-J-Josh?" I said standing up confused. "Lyric?" He said smiling. "I haven't seen you in-" he couldn't finish his sentence. "3 years." I said.

Josh was my ex boyfriend. He was not the dreaded guy I was making sure not to see ever again in my life. We just decided it was best to be friends and after that we just kinda quit talking. He really did love me. I dated him for 2 years I was 15 when we stopped talking and it was just like in the movies. I cried and ate ice cream and listened to sad songs, but it only lasted a couple days. I didn't have a boyfriend after that. Not until Michael. I didn't want to get my heart breaken again.

"Lyric" the lady at the counter called my name to tell me my food was ready. I picked up the tray and walked over to a booth. Before I could eat one bite Josh sat down in front of me. "Are you okay?" He said looking at me. "Yeah I'm fine. Are you okay?" I asked kind of awkwardly not really knowing why he asked me that. "No Lyric I mean I've heard your parents no longer have custody of you and you have a gash above your eyebrow and a cast on your wrist. Now let me ask you again. Are you okay?" He said sound concerned. "Yes. I was in a small wreck. No big deal." I said eating my onion rings.

My phone started vibrating and I looked down and saw Michael calling me. I grabbed my phone and quickly hit the decline button. I stared at it. "Is everything okay?" He said looking at me. "Oh yeah everything's perfect!" I said sitting it facedown next to me. "Where are you staying tonight?" He asked me. "I mean I assume not your house so where have you been staying.". "I don't know Josh." I said aggressively. "I mean I have an apartment. Nothing big but I have a couch. Your welcome to sleep on it tonight to get everything sorted out." He said smiling. "Thank you but I have everything sorted out just fine." I lied. I have no plans of where I'm going or staying.

I finished my burger. "Well I better get going. Bye." I said grabbing my phone. "I'm finished too." He said standing up. We walked outside together. He was parked two cars over from me. I started walking towards my jeep. "Josh, I'll stay." I said not turning around. "Alright! Just follow me home." He said opening the door to his black charger.

We walked up two flights of stairs to room 21B. I walked in behind him to notice it was a pretty nice place. "Thanks for letting me stay." I said looking around. "No problem anytime. Well we could play the playstation like we use to if you want." He said taking my jacket and hanging it on his coat rack. "Yeah and I'll beat you just like I use to!" I said laughing and kicking off my converse making myself at home.

I jumped on the couch sitting criss crossed as Josh handed me the controller. We played the first round of bots and as usual I beat him. We started the second round and before I could even shoot one player Josh took the controller out of my hands. "Joshua give it back now!" I said jumping up and standing above him. "Never!" he said standing up and leaning around me trying to see the screen, but as he was leaning to each side his leg got tangled up in mine making us both fall onto the couch. I was laying on top of him. I giggled sticking a piece of hair behind my eat before grabbing my controller and standing up continuing to shoot the bots. "I won again!" I said. Giving him a smirk.

We played the playstation all night until we both got too tired. He sleep in his bedroom while I sleep on the couch. It was nice hanging out with him again. And this time I think he actually knows to just be friends.
