"I'm off to work." My dad said grabbing his briefcase before grabbing onto the silver door handle of our front door. I was halfway up the stairs spiraling up to my bedroom. "What time do you get off remember my graduation is tonight at 6?" I said waiting for his response. "I'm just signing a new band. I should be home in about three hours or so." I looked at the clock noticing it was 11 noticing he would be home with plenty time to spare. "Sounds great!" I said excitedly. He walked out the door as soon as my mom yelled from the kitchen that lunch was ready. "Be there in a minute!" I said.

I noticed I had a text from Paisley. I read it out loud I'm coming over at 1 to get ready. I can't believe I'm graduating with my best friend! I just smiled and ran down stairs to meet my mom placing pizza on a plate and handing it to me. "Thanks." I said smiling walking over to the bar to sit and eat. "Ready for the big day? Your graduating today Lyric! My baby girl is growing up." She said acting like she was crying. "Yes I'm ready! I'm 18 mom I don't think I'm your little girl anymore." I said finishing pizza and hearing the doorbell ring.

I walked to the two big white doors and pulled them opening to see Paisley pulling me into a hug. "Today's the day!" She said walking into my house. "Hi Mrs. Johnson." Paisley said waving to my mom. "You've known my mom for 7 years I think you can call her Angie." I said laughing. Paisley was like me a rocker. She wasn't girly but she wasn't a bad girl. We weren't the ones to go to parties we were the ones to stay in our room playing our guitars and singing.

"Let's go get ready! We only have 3 hours since we have to be there at 4:30." Paisley said dragging me up to my big room. My room was painted black & white. She sat me down on my bathroom counter and started curling my hair as I did my makeup.

We got to the school at 4:10. We ran through the halls of our school trying to make up for us being ten minutes late. Our heels clicked on the floor as we entered the auditorium. We could be girly if we wanted and since it was graduation we decided it would be a good time to. We checked in with one of our teachers and I walked to the bathroom quickly wanting to get back to Paisley. I was walking out of the bathroom almost jogging when I ran into a tall boy with bright red hair. "I'm sorry. He said looking me up and down. "Yeah sorry." I said not paying attention to him but walking back to the auditorium.

I walked onto the stage to except my graduation certificate. I looked at the crowd only to notice the familiar red haired boy staring at me smiling. The rest of the class got there certificates as we all stoop up. "This is it." I said to Paisley who had tears in her eyes. We all threw our caps in the air. "We did it"
