Kamanari lay in bed unable to fall asleep. He tried changing positions, counting sheep, doing everything he could possibly think of but to no avail. It was only 11:30, but still decently late. After a few minutes, he gave up and went downstairs to make himself a cup of nighttime tea.
Maybe this will do the trick
He entered the common room to see Jirou sitting on the couch writing something down in a composition book, her Taylor propped up against the armrest. He instantly forgot the tea as butterflies flew around in his stomach. She looked up to see him coming down the stairs, smiling and waving at him. Kamanari swallowed his nerves and slowly made his way over to her.
"Hey Jirou! What are you up to?"
He asked casually.
"Nothing much, just working on the song for the school festival. I was about to fall asleep when inspiration hit"
She replied, continuing to jot stuff down in her notebook.
(Btw anyone else feel this way? You'll be laying in bed at 3am and then boom you get an idea for a song?)
Kamanari grinned as he reached around her trying to snag the paper but she jerked it away before he could touch it. Even though she agreed to play, she was still self conscious about her music, especially songs that she wrote herself.
"Hey I'm your bandmate now, plus you're gonna have to show us eventually if we're all going to play it together so lemme seeeeee"
Kamanari pouted.
"Ugh fine"
Jirou rolled her eyes and handed over the notebook covering her face in embarrassment. She hadn't written much. Just the chorus so far.
"Heeey not bad! This is a great start!"
Kamanari smiled as he handed back the notebook.
"Could I hear it?"
"Absolutely not!"
Jirou snapped as she started to pack up her guitar. She froze when Kamanari placed his hand on top of hers, stopping her in her tracks.
"Please Jirou? Pretty please with a cherry on top?"
He said it with a fake frown and puppy eyes. It was a face she couldn't say no to.
Why does he have to be so adorable
"Fine"
She muttered and took out her guitar again.
"But keep in mind this is the first draft so don't expect it to be amazing or anything"
She stuttered as she nervously held the instrument in her hands. She played the chord progression she wrote and sang what lyrics she already had.
Hero too I am a hero too
My heart is set and I won't back down
Hero too strength doesn't make a hero
True heroes stand up for what they believe
So wait and seeShe finished playing and looked over at Kamanari with a worried look in her eyes.
"W-Well...what do you think?"
She asked nervously. Kamanari stared blankly in bewilderment before breaking into applause.
"I love it! You just came up with that?"
