Give Me Love

Chapter 14

Lucia was shocked they were having an ice cream bar to celebrate her landing the part. She was over being surprised by these people but every day they found a new way to stump her.

Her favorite flavor of gelato was chocolate so that was what they ate. Marcy called Jessie to tell her the news and soon her phone lit up with messages of good will from the family. It made Lucia feel very special.

Marcy sat on Riley's bed and sung her special song to wake her up. "Happy birthday, my baby."

Riley popped up with a giggle. "It's my birthday!"

"It is!"

Riley threw herself on her mother. "Yay! Chocolate?!"

"But of course!" Marcy continued her mother's tradition of giving her daughters her special hot chocolate and their favorite jam or spread on toast on the morning of their birthdays. It made her close to her girls and feel better towards her mom.

Riley sipped her hot chocolate and nibbled on her toast with Nutella and bananas. When she finished, she got out of bed to make it then ran to collect clothing for the day.

Marcy collected the earthenware and left her baby to it.

Riley had a pretty good birthday. All the attention was on her and she opened as many presents as she wanted for the occasion but also Valentine's Day.

The others exchanged gifts for the holiday as well but made sure to give Riley her props.

When the little girl went to bed, she had a huge smile on her face.

Marcy climbed in the bed and leaned over to kiss Mal.

"Oh?" His attention was officially stolen.

She giggled. "I thank you for my gift."

He sobered when he realized what gift she meant. "I know tomorrow's going to be hard on you. I want you to know that I love you and I will always find you."

She sniffled as she nuzzled him.

Ellen leaned on him as well. "I'll find you, too."

Marcy's lips twitched. "And I'll always fight my way back to you."

The trio stayed in a loved up hug until it felt natural to go about their business.

Everyone watched Marcy like a hawk the day after Riley's birthday. It was the anniversary of her kidnapping and they were making sure that it didn't happen again.

Marcy had had a night of strange dreams but flashes of the year before continued to take up space in her head. She ruthlessly shoved it aside and went about working and doing what she needed to. Life went on.

So she continued to live.

Marcy made a pitstop on her way home.

Marc, Mike and Mal went to the USA to gather Charlene's things. They had no problem at all getting into her luxury apartment and packing up everything she wanted sent to Italy.

When the home was empty of personal effects, Marc locked the door and he and his brothers went to ship everything then go catch their plane back home.
