Chapter 21 - An Old Friend

11TH MARCH

I put on my formal White slim fit shirt which has the logo of Delhi Warriors and pair it up with black trousers. I look into the mirror and roll up sleeves to look a bit representable.

Okay, that's acceptable.

I head to Utkarsh's room to greet him. I spot him nervously tap his fingers on the study table, probably in deep thoughts.

"What's up?" I lean against his door frame.

"Oh, it's you. Nothing, just another day- Aaraya won't reply." He sighs.

I feel bad for him. He's trying hard, but I'm sure she has her reasons.

"She'll soon, okay? Don't worry." I don't think my condolences are much of a help to him. "Anyway, I'm going, see you later."

"Ha, thike." (Yes, okay). " You look good by the way. I smirk and wave at him, mumbling a 'bye'.

I fight back a yawn, moving towards the front gate.

Greeting the chauffeur, I sit in my Mercedes- S Class Limousine. If you're wondering, where am I going- at fucking 7 o'clock in the morning? Then let me tell you.

To Mumbai.

Why?

Because we have IKL auctions later this week, so as you must have assumed or not, there is a team meeting today at 10 AM in JW Marriott, Juhu, Mumbai.

As you know but let me state anyway.

I play for Delhi Warriors for the past 12 years, which is ever since my international debut and I've captained the side for around 9 years now.

The opposition teams didn't leave a chance to troll the 22-year-old Raghvansh. I won't complain because we lost the six matches back to back during the first season under my captaincy.

So.

And here I am, as the most successful IKL captain, with 6 trophies.

I take my phone out and send a quick text to Kaushal-

You : Do you have your team meeting today too?

I get an instant reply.

Kaushal : Yes, at around 10 AM. What about you Cap? Have you left Purple? You have your team meeting today too, right?

You : Yes Kaushal, even we have our team meeting today. The same timing and I've left home about ten minutes ago. Is your meeting in Trident or Oberois'?

Kaushal : Oberois'. Delhi Warriors is at JW I assume. Anyway cap, just wanted to ask you- I called Raunak a while ago, he says he has a free window between 1 to 6 PM, so what say? Should we catch up and have lunch together?

I think for while and type-

You : Sounds good to me. The meeting should be over by 12. So see you at Raunaks' apartment around 1 or so.

Kaushal : Yes, definitely. I'll text him. Have a great day Raghvan.

I wish him the same and quickly open Raunak and my chat window. I text him about the little plan of ours and switch my phone off.

Seems like it's going to be a long day.

12:50 PM

I knock at Raunak's apartment and grin as his mom opens the door. I touch her feet and she engulfs me into a hug.

I've known Raunak's mom for years now and she's one of the sweetest people I've ever seen.
