PIHA'S POV:

[THE NEXT DAY]

5TH MARCH

"Di, ya! Stop being a spoilsport!" I yell at Di as she continues scrolling through Instagram.

"Stop annoying me, Piha. Tell me what you want?" she asks me, sighing.

"I don't know. I'm bored." I pout, only to be ignored. Oh, well!

Our orthopaedic and some of the non-emergency departments have a holiday today due to the floods in Pune. Bored is an understatement for what I feel right now. What should I do?

Ta-da! I know!

"Di, I have an idea."

"What is it, Pihu?" Di asks, annoyed.

"Can you colour my hair?" I flash her puppy eyes as she gapes at me. I've never really put effort into the way I look. Minimal make-up, natural, open hair, comfortable clothes, and no accessories describe me well. Di has always been pestering me about colouring my hair, and now that I have nothing to do, why not?

She reaches her cupboard in a jiffy and removes a box of purple hair color.

PURPLE! The name of Raghvansh's mansion.

To be honest, I do not understand his obsession with the colour.

"I just have one box left. The purple one," Di says, opening it.

No. Why does it have to be that one now?

I wash my hair and look at my reflection, only to gasp. I mean, purple does make me glow.

‘The hair color or something else, Piha?’

I bite my tongue at that—time to show Di. Making my way to the living room, I see my family staring at the TV.

"Shahid Birla and Meera Birla were spotted at the Pune airport approximately an hour ago."

Like an hour ago? Do these media guys have nothing else to do, or maybe you're complaining because they're Birlas?

I press my lips into a straight line and clear my throat for attention, only to see them widening their eyes.

"Pihu!" Di grabs me by my shoulders and shakes me.

I throw her a questioning look.

"You're not our Piha. Where is she, and who is this hot girl?" she exclaims dramatically as I roll my eyes.

"Pihu beta, you look so pretty,” Mummy and Papa chirp.

I smile at them sheepishly and excuse myself to look at my reflection for a while.

"You look pretty, Piha," I admit to myself. I feel beautiful nowadays too. "Roman, this is what you wanted, right? Taking care of myself, loving myself. Roman, I hope you’re happy now. Don't complain, okay? I'm trying to do every single thing that will make you happy. I'm trying to do things I've never done only for your sake. Do you know? I've started missing you a little less nowadays, and I'll be totally honest. It might be due to the blue-eyed man who doesn't go out of my little brain. I can trust him, right? He's safe, right? Tell me, Roman. Why don't you answer?" I say, holding back my tears. "No way. I am not crying in front of you, okay? Come on; go away now. I gotta show Uncle, Aunty, and Rahul Bhaiya too. Bye!" I wave at the mirror dramatically.

I turn around, smiling to myself. Pihaaaaa! You did it; you didn't cry. My smile widens, thinking about how proud he would be of me.

I take a mirror selfie and send it to Uncle, Aunty, and Rahul Bhaiya. I smile as I instantly get their compliments.
