Chapter One

"You're just a waste of space!"

"Why is he alive anyways?"

"It would've been better if your life was the one TAKEN INSTEAD OF YOUR FATHER!"

They'd never leave Sunoo alone. They'd always find ways to bother, harm him in every possible way. He couldn't fight back since he was weak.

No one exactly knew when it started or why it started. As far as they knew, things were never the same after his father's life was taken away after saving young Sunoo. 'Well... It was my fault in the first place. If I wasn't so stupid, everything would've been great right now.' He'd always tell himself.

Ever since his father's life was taken from him, his mother wasn't who she was anymore. She turned out to be an alcoholic and abusive. She'd blame the lad for everything- even the slightest bit. Even when Sunoo hadn't done anything.

"Sunoo... Did you know you're such a waste of space? Cause you are..."

Hearing those unpleasant words from his peers- if you consider them that; Adults- even his own family members. As the youngest, it'd hurt poor Sunoo- especially when they say it with a straight to his face. Sunoo knew that he shouldn't be bothered by those words but as a child whose life was once perfect then later on changed for something stupid and blamed for everything out of nowhere- yeah, it'd hurt.

Sunoo's bullies would never stop pestering him- wherever he goes- he'd see them. He wished just one day, one day he won't run into them but life seems to hate him as he happens to run into them as he walked back home. 'What a great timing. I should've used the other way instead of this shortcut, knowing how high the chances were of running into their group.' He thought as he watched the leader come up to him. Sunoo met the ground as the leader pushed him out of nowhere. His knee bled as he tried to stop himself from crying in pain. "Aww... Is Sunoo going to cry?" They mocked him., looking each other while making weird noises and weird crying gestures. Sunoo mentally rolled my eyes at their actions. 'When will they mature already? It's annoying how they're desperately trying so hard to mock me. They're so bad at it, even a smart baby could tell.'

Suddenly, a feminine laugh was heard all over the place. It wasn't that kind of laugh you'd hear when something is funny but it was more of a scornful, sarcastic laugh you let out when you see such a pathetic act in front of you. Honestly the group's acting was in fact, pathetic. They all turned to the voice, only to see a petite girl with dark hair. She attempted to control her laughter. However, the scene in front of her made her burst out a loud, sarcastic laugh. The group took glances at each other, shook at the fact that a loud, jeering laugh came out of a small yet sweet looking girl.

The leader walked up to her, testing the little girl as his figure towered her, "What's so funny little girl?" She looked straight at his eyes then at the rest who were present. Her eyes showed no emotions and stopped once hers and Sunoo's eyes met.

Letting out another scoffing laugh, she rolled her eyes, "WAH, you are so pathetic." She muttered, rolling her eyes once again.

She parted ways, leaving their mouth hanging. The leader was furious, yet scared and shocked at what she had done. He felt inferior for once. But his ego and pride were higher than Mount Everest that he tried hiding his expressions from his group.

"W-who does she think she is?" His stutters couldn't be hidden as the poor lad shook in fear. "Do you even know who she is?" The leader smack one of his minions' head and yelled, "OF COURSE I DO... I-I reali-lized S-she's Dani Lee, one of the smartest students in our school..." The group expressed their anger, forgetting the young boy who was on the ground, bleeding.

Sunoo couldn't help but stare at her back, amazed at how a petite girl bravely stood up for him 'does that even count as standing up for me?'

Sunoo groaned as he felt a stinging pain on his wrist. The group pushed pass Sunoo as their leader mumbled, "get lost." And left.

He sat there alone, now not knowing what to do. He remembered that stinging pain he felt and looked at his wrist and for the first time, he smiled as he reads out, "you are so pathetic."
