Chapter Three

"A high school student named, Jay Park- also known as Jay or Jong-Seong Park, was found dead at a local abandoned gym near **** high school. His body was found today at 5:54 am. Detectives infer that the suspect was an astute man since the detectives failed to find any tracks or clues about the suspect... Family of..." Sunoo watched the news as his mother shook her head in disappointment, "Poor kid." She heaved a sigh, "Sunoo..." She turned to the lad with disappointment visible on her face. Although Sunoo knew exactly what she was going to say, he kept his mouth shut, not wanting to cause more problem in an early morning, "Why can't be that you instead?" The brunette mentally sighed, "I guess you have no choice but to deal with me," He couldn't help but mutter under his breath and slowly turning himself around. Grabbing his bag that was on the floor, he spoke, "I'm heading off mom. I'll see you later."

"Sunoo. I'm coming home late since I have things to take care later but you better be back home early." Sunoo nodded in response and mentally cheered, 'That means I can spend more time with her...'. He quickly ran to school, hoping to see the goddess first in class.

Sunoo sat on his seat as soon as he arrived. Surprisingly, he was the first person in class. No one really cares whether he was the first or late since most of them doesn't even know of his existence.

Soon, more students came and filled up the classroom. Sunoo sighed and continued waiting for her.

Dani later came in the classroom whilst chatting with her seatmate, Niki or Nishimura Riki . She looked okay despite the news of Jay's passing circling around the school. 'She didn't even look like she's bothered by the fact that he's gone. I guess she really didn't like him back. She shouldn't... '

Sunoo stared at her in adulation for who knows how long until she turned and their eyes met. It felt as if the world stopped. His heart was beating rapidly as he felt his breath ceased. Realizing he had been staring at her, he looked away as he turn crimson red, pretending to look for something. 'She noticed me...Well it's not my fault she's beautiful...'

Dani giggled at what happened. She sighed and continued talking to her best friend. The bell rang as the first class commence.

The first few class periods went by quickly as it was time for their last class before lunch. It was English and their English teacher, Ms. Ju, clapped and greeted them with her beautiful singing voice to get the student's attention, "Ok children, I am assigning you a project which will be done in pairs since this class has an even number of students. This time, you get to choose your partner but before that, let me show you what you have to do," Ms. Smith opened up her PowerPoint and showed them the details, "Don't worry, it's very simple. Ok, so... you are given a few weeks to write a story- any story- with your partner. It should be original and must include at least 20 vocabularies from the lessons we recently learned. So...," She continued on, explaining everything they had to know about the project. "Anyone have any questions? No? Ok, you may choose your partner and please don't make any noise." She gave her students a lovely smile as she watched them choose their partners.

Sunoo sat quietly, knowing that no one would even want to be partnered up with him, unless they had no choice since he was somewhat an anathema to them.

Sunoo fiddled with his fingers, waiting for someone to approach him at least. Suddenly, a familiar presence tapped his shoulder, "H-hey...Sunoo, right?" Sunoo looked up, only to see the beautiful goddess he adored. Sunoo gaped at the presence as words were caught up on his tongue. Sunoo didn't know what to say and weirdly nodded in response. "Is... it okay if we could be partners for this project?" Sunoo nodded once again, mentally slapping himself for not speaking.

After gaining his sense, he decided to act as if he were mute, in case he might say things he shouldn't say and make himself look reputable. Poor Dani. If only she knew the truth...

Sunoo took out a piece of paper and wrote, explaining to her that she will talk normally to him while he writes his response or do some gestures. "Y-you're mute?" He nodded and gave her a sad smile. Dani's mood suddenly subsided and she tried her best hiding it with her famous smile, "Why did you choose me as you partner? Is it because you had no choice or a dare???" She nervously scratched her neck as she turned different shades of pink, "NEITHER!" She yelled. Ms. Ju scolded her and she apologized to the class for her sudden outburst. "That's not it...w-well... I wanted to get to know you more since I barely see you interact with anyone...Also... you seem fun to be with and I'm interested in knowing you more..." She smiled and mumbled words Sunoo failed to comprehend. Even though his curiosity was killing him, he nodded in response, telling her that he understands.

Dani is usually calm and collected and was a popular student in their school for her looks and intelligence. Without her, the school wouldn't even win most of the competition held during the past years. Dani was also known to break men's hearts as she was too busy with her friends and studies to bother being with someone. Surprisingly, this time she was acting sheepish. 'Does she like me? I mean she should since I'm her soulmate.'

The two began discussing about the project. Sunoo tried his best not to make any noise, hoping not to mess up his last-minute plan of being mute.

Dani was enjoying her time with him, without Sunoo knowing and obviously, Sunoo enjoyed his time with her. Sunoo was disappointed and slightly mad at himself for giving his soulmate a hard time communicating with him. He didn't even know why he did that. He felt stupid but according to him, it was for the best. Alas, a saturnine aura surrounded the two. 'Was she upset at the fallacy of me being mute?'

Time passed as the class ended as students scuttle out of the class with their friends. "Sunoo... where do you want to meet up to do our project?"

"Is yours fine?" Sunoo quickly wrote his answer and handed her the paper. "Sounds good to me!" She yelped in happiness. The pair exchanged contacts and parted ways for their lunch. Dani watched as Sunoo walked away. Dani sighed in disappointed, wishing she asked him to eat lunch with her.

On the other hand, Sunoo was engulf with his situation, 'There's no way in hell would i bring her to my place. I can't imagine her look after finding out what kind of family I have.
