"Thank you for meeting me" I exhale looking everywhere but in his eyes
"It's been a long time, Al...you look great."
I cringe at the way he says my name with an undertone that screams "I know you better than you know yourself"
"Look I only invited you here because I need closure. The last time I saw you..." my voice starts to crack "...I almost died and you will never understand that."
"Al-"
"Aliza. Call me Aliza" I demand softly
"Okay. Aliza. I don't understand. I went away to make sure I did not hurt you. If you'd only understood that, maybe you wouldn't be so hateful towards me."
I freeze. Completely shocked at the denial he's in.
"I'm gonna pretend that you did not just say that...." I look at him and see no remorse and I immediately feel the ache in my chest that disappeared for a while. I look over and before I knew it, I had thrown my glass of ice water in his face.
I couldn't even blink when I saw the evil look in his eyes and he reached over across the table with both hands and lifted me, jacking me up.
He just stares at me and I am afraid... "Devil" I say while a tear falls from my eye
The very next second I see an arm put him into a headlock and slam him onto the ground and I back up hitting the chair behind me realizing it's.. .
"Bill" I whisper to myself. Relieved he was here to save the day but praying MJ was no where near.
"Stop moving" Bill says pressing his arms behind his back..
"I'm cool man...I'm cool" He says
"Bill, let him go. Please and let's go" I say wiping my face and running my hand through my hair and looking down for my purse.
The police come up and escort me out into the car while Bill stays behind and talks to them. Before getting into the car, I look back into the restaurant window and connect eyes with Bill and I nod...I silently thanking him and he nods back.
The Next Day
The Grove Condo
"Lo, can you see who that is" MJ shouts from the bedroom while getting dressed.
"At your service, monsieur" I play in my French accent and he laughs
"Chello"
"Yellowwww. It's me, Kim. Open up"
I buzz her in and open the door and strike a pose at the door causing her to laugh getting off the elevator.
