The Student's Romance (Lawlu)

Twenty-One

The cafe was busier than normal. Luffy watches as people flooded in from outside. He looked around wondering what it was that caused such a rush. But couldn't see anything. Walking into the cafe he skipped up to the Manager.
"Manager, why is it so busy? Do we have an offer on?", he said with a confused expression on his face. Her smile beamed,
"It's our new attraction Luffy, he will be starting soon", Luffy cocked his head and smiled, unsure of what to say. Some moments later a small group of girls gathered around him giggling and smiling, cooing and waving just to get his attention.

A tall redhead walked into the entrance smiling like he was the king of the cafe. Stopping in his tracks his jaw dropped, seeing a small crowd of people fanning themselves by the cafe bar. Unsure how to take this outburst of people he smirked before yawning.
Feeling annoyed he was unsure why the group of people didn't flock to him right away. Looking past one of the shorter females he noticed a small raven-haired male blending cold coffee drinks. Smiling and shaking his hips to the music that played in the background. Like he didn't have a care in the world.

"Tsk", 
The small noise of annoyance caused the female to turn around. Screaming she ran over to him, bouncing up and down like a puppy at a store. Kidd smiled and winked at her before making his way to the cafe counter. Smiling at the manager he lifted the cafe latch and walked to the back room. Not stopping as he gave this intruder the best evil eye he could. Luffy was unaware of the danger that had just walked into the staff room, too oblivious to the environment around him. 

After the madness had calm down Luffy looked over and watched Law in the distance. The sun hit his raven hair making it look almost blue. His grey eyes took in the light, making them look almost golden. Law pinched the top of his nose before drinking a mouthful of coffee. 
He looked over at Luffy meeting his gaze, Resting his chin on his hand he gave Luffy a little smiled before turning back to his studies.
"You look like you could do with a coffee Law", Luffy said with a fresh pot of coffee in his hands, 
"Sounds perfect", Law smiled,
"I hope you're not giving out free coffee newbie", said a voice behind the counter.

Both turned to face the voice that spoke to them. The red-haired male was now leaning on the counter and smiling at the pair.
"Erm, I'm not new here?", Luffy said confused,
"Oh, Kid there you are, this is Luffy the young boy I was telling you about", beamed their manager. Kidd walked over to Luffy, trying to get a better look at the younger male. That's when he saw him. 
"Law?", he asked, reaching his hand out to him trying to touch his face. Just as his hand caressed Law's cheek, the look of surprise washed off his face and was quickly replaced with anger.
"What the fuck Kidd", he growled, clawing his hand away from his face, "What are you doing here?', he bit. 

Kid stumbles back before smiling nervously at Law. 
"Talk Kid!", he shouted, Kid looked to the floor before replying, He grabbed his knees, resting his head on them, taking a deep breath he looked back at Law.
"I finished uni and decided to come back to where we used to live, I saw the manager was looking for extra staff. I didn't know you live nearby, I just thought you would have left the area like we always planned. I wasn't going to contact you even tho I wanted to", he trailed off.
Law pushed his hand through his hair, with a heavy sigh he looked back at Kid,
"Well clearly there is a lot to talk about, care to take a seat", he pointed to the empty chair in front of him. 

Luffy and the manager went back to the counter and watched from a distance. Their conversation seemed intense and unhappy. Law spent a lot of the time staring at Kid as he explained himself. Luffy went over again to pour them a coffee and hand Law his favorite treats from the counter. 
"You both look like you need a break", smiled Luffy sweetly, Law grabs him by the waist and thank him for the cake, Kidd bites his lip and watched as the teen walked over to another table clearing the cup and plates. He scanned the cafe and saw multiple women fawning over him as he danced and sang around to the top hits songs on the radio. Kid growled as Luffy danced with the manager before clearing the display counter of all the different cakes and pastries.

"So, you are with the kid mhm", Kid swallowed the angry lump in his throat. His eyes pierced straight into Law's before resting his arms on the table. Law heard the venom in Kid's voice.
"Yeah, I am. He is good to me and I think I'm good for him. We plan to get married at the end of His Uni year", 
"You do seem different Law. How are Penguin and Shachi?", he asked, trying to take the pressure of the clear dislike he had for Luffy. Law hummed before saying they were fine. The two sat in silence for what seemed liked hours. 
"Well, I have a job to do so I'll see you around Tarfalger", 
"Maybe Eustass, maybe",
