Hitomi Akechi is the eldest daughter of Mitsuhide Akechi, Gracia's older sister and the wife of Motochika Chõsokabe. She married Motochika at the age of 16. During the time of their marriage, she gave birth to four sons, including their eldest Nobuchika and four daughters. In the games, their marriage was not only a very happy marriage but one of spiritual love due to according to Motochika, meant to be soulmates. Kind-hearted and a pacifist, Hitomi disdains war and bloodshed of any kind but will make an exception if her family and friends are in danger. She also hides an unmatched, selfless courage inside of her, always willing to put her life on the line in order to protect her loved ones. Hitomi is symbolized by the kanji perception and spirit and is also mostly symbolized by morning glories, mainly blue morning glories. Blue morning glory symbolize trust, respect and other deep heartfelt emotions which may be a reference to Hitomi's marriage to Motochika.
