Chapter 19-drinks

February 14th 1977

James was not excited for Valentine's Day. Usually he would make it an excuse to go pester Lili with flowers and ask her out, but circumstances have.....changed.

James sighed and rolled over. Why just why does HE make me feel like this. (An:....me every 5 seconds)

He decided to go to the common room. It was 3:00am and he wasn't falling asleep anytime soon.

He grabbed his astrology book and homework and headed down.

Being in the common room all by yourself is wonderful. Its quiet and cozy. You could smell the crackling fire.

He settled up on a couch next to the fireplace and started to read.

About 5 minutes later someone came down the steps.

It was Remus. "Hey James." Said the werewolf sitting down next to him.

"Hey moony" said James contuing to read.

They sat in silence for a few minutes until Remus said "Listen James, I came down here to talk to you about something."

James nodded his head for Remus to continue.

"I know something has happened between you and regulus. You don't have to tell me what but just know that whatever happened the marauders will be by your side." Said Remus with a friendly smile.

James' eyes started tearing up and suddenly he was balling into Remus.

Remus chuckled and rubbed his back, "James you soft bastered."

James chuckled and said "look who's talking."

Remus' mouth dropped open in a laughing matter, and punched James shoulder.

He sighed. "Those blacks always a bit of drama , huh?"

James laughed " yea. Not sure which one is more dramatic....probably Reggie."

Remus was laughing too, "really?! Well he must be a handful"

James nodded and sniffed "yea..."

It was quite for a while after that both of them enjoying the scilence.

"I need to help him." Said James

"I know prongs, but I don't think we can do anything now. He's made up his mind." Said Remus

James nodded and got up. This conversation was over there was nothing really left to disscuse.

"James" Remus acid getting up, "why don't we we all go out of drinks tomorrow, at hogsmeed"

James smiled at this. "Yea that would be great Moony"

The next evening the four marauders were at the one eyed witched passage ready to have a good time and get drunk.

They all had on some form of jeans and shirts. Sirius was holding Remus' hand all the way down the corridor.

They made small talk on the way their. "I know exactly what prank to pull next guys..." Sirius said. All the marauders were now very interested in this conversation.

Once they got to the celler they all climbed out. And hoped into the sweets shop. It smelled of fresh chocolate even though it was still closed.

Remus had to be pulled out of the shop in order from them not to buy anything.

They started down the street and eventually stepped into the busy pub. Their was a band playing tonight. So the place was packed with all different sorts of witches and wizards.

Sirius was the only one of the marauders that was of age, so he went to go buy drinks.

Sirius got miultiple shots of firewhisky and butter beer for James.

The band came on, and music started blasting throughout the crowd. Sirius pulled Remus up to dance with him, and Remus pulled Peter. Sirius glared at Remus but Peter ended up pulling up James too.

They went into the mess of people and started to sway to the music. It was exhilarating.

After about an hour later James needed a break. He squeezed through the crowd and stepped outside into the cold winter air.

It was refreshing.

Soon after Sirius came out too. "Heyyyy prongsie" he said dragging out the 'e'

"Hey pads" said James

"Leaving without us are you" Sirius said stumbling over to James. He could smell the heavy sent off alcohol.

"You can't get rid of me that easy" said James with a smirk
