Two Months Later
It was the day of your wedding. The actual day. Today you were marrying Bucky Barnes. It had been a busy two months of wedding planning, buying dresses, suits and decorations. You were sat at your dressing table, applying your makeup, while wearing a y/f/c robe that had bride on the back. It was courtesy of Wanda, who was obsessed with planning your wedding.
Nat came in with some coffee, she had done her hair and makeup already. “Hey,” she said, “Wanda is freaking out, I think she just threw a cookie at Vision,” you laughed, “I can’t believe in a few hours you’ll be married,” in a few hours you would be the wife of Bucky Barnes *momentary freak out*
After doing your makeup, Nat did your hair for you (In any style you want so just imagine that). Then you went to check up on Wanda, who told you that you weren’t allowed outside. Bucky was in his old room, or guest room, because he was moved in with you. George was wearing a little suit and wine red bow tie. It looked so cute on him. “Okay Y/N,” said Wanda, as you took a seat at the kitchen table, “Hate to be that person, but can you go get ready or your gonna be late,”
“Wanda it’s like the people who live here, some of my dad’s old friends and like five shield agents,” you said, she glared at you, “I’m gonna go put my dress on, even though I have an hour,” she smiled gratefully before you headed to your room.
Once you got to your room, you picked up your wedding vows off your bedside table and read through them quietly. You had so much to say but no idea how to say it. He was the person you wanted to wake up to everyday. So that was all you had to say, it was that easy. You pocketed them, before opening your wardrobe and taking out your wedding dress. It was gorgeous. Something you usually wouldn’t wear, but you adored it. The dress was white, with dusted pink and lace along the train at the bottom. It had a sweetheart neckline encrusted with pink jewels, which matched the pink jewels Nat had used to keep your hair in place. The dress was backless, but hugged your upper body before falling into a mermaid style skirt. It was gorgeous, the most beautiful thing you owned. And you couldn’t wait for Bucky to see you in it.
You slipped into the dress, before stepping in front of the mirror. The skirt of your dress flowed at your feet before settling gently around your legs. You put on the diamond heels that were sitting next to your bed. Picking up the pink lipstick on your dressing table you reapplied it. You repeated the vows again before texting Nat to make sure the coast was clear. And that was when Wanda told you that you could come downstairs.
Making your way down the stairs, you noticed Tony there. George, Nat and Wanda, who were all wearing matching wine red, were there too. “You look amazing,” said Nat, handing you the bouquet which was a bunch of white and pink lilies. “You look gorgeous,” said Wanda, sorting out the train of your dress, you laughed, “Sorry,” she said, “Just go, go get married,”
Nat and Steve, along with Sam and Wanda walked in front of you, and both George and Tony on either side. Bucky was stood at the end of the aisle, which Wanda had made out of tiny candles that flickered from the sun. Three rows of chairs on either side were filled, leaving the front row for Tony, George, Nat, Wanda, Steve and Sam. You felt nervous as everyone’s eyes were on you. Bucky was wearing an all black suit, and his hair had been cut short, like it used to be in the forties. He was wearing a smile that could light up a room as he watched you. Tony kissed your cheek as you reached the fairy light covered arch that Bucky was stood under.
You stood in front of Bucky, as he took your hands in his. He sent you a small smile that made your heart skip a beat. You were actually marrying him, you were marrying Bucky. “Friends and Family,” said the officiant, “We are gathered here today to celebrate the marriage of Y/N Stark and James Barnes,” Bucky squeezed your hand lightly as you smiled.
Next, was the vows. Bucky went first, “Y/N, you are the first thing on my mind, the last thought before I sleep and my only forever love. I promise to love you unconditionally through thick and thin and in sickness and in health. You are the only person I want by my side for the rest of my life, I love you Y/N,” you laughed a little as tears welled in your eyes. Bucky smiled back.
“James Buchanan Barnes,” you said, “I choose you, to have and to hold you, in tears and in laughter, in sickness and in health, to love and cherish, from now until forever, and in this life and the next. I choose you. And I will always choose you,”
George brought the rings up to the front on a red velvet cushion. You had chosen a plain silver band for Bucky which had i choose you inscripted on the inside. Bucky had chosen a thin silver band for you with one big diamond in the middle and smaller diamonds around it. It sparkled in the sunlight, as George handed you Bucky’s ring, and Bucky yours. Bucky slipped the ring onto your finger, and you did the same for him.
The officiant then continued with the next part of the ceremony. “James, do you take this woman to be your wife? Do you promise to love her, comfort her, honor and keep her, in sickness and in health as both as you long shall live?”
Bucky wrapped his arms around your waist as he pulled you closer to him, “I do,”
“And Y/N, do you take this man to be your husband? Do you promise to love him, comfort him, honor and keep him, in sickness and in health as long as you both shall live?”
You smiled, blinking back tears so as not to ruin your makeup, “I do,”
“Then I now pronounce you husband and wife,” he said, “You may now kiss the bride,”
Bucky ran his finger along your lip and cupped your cheek, before running his fingers through your hair. You parted the kiss and froze for a moment, it was perfect. And you were actually married to Bucky, you were going to spend the rest of your life with him.
You were married to Bucky Barnes.
