As I stood in my mum and dads room looking into the floor to ceiling mirror I smiled. I loved my natural flowy curls but I had decided on straightening my hair for a change. George had stated it was just a casual get together dinner so I had chosen a pair of high-waisted black leather pants, a cute cream crop sweater and some lace up boot heels.
Today had been great. Nobody had mentioned the bruise on my face although I could sense that Chace had been pestering Erin and Josh all day but they had stuck to what I had said (as far as I knew). I had gone to my extra English lesson with Mr Walker at lunch time and he was a brilliant teacher. He was funny, kind, easy going and if I didn’t get something first time he would always go over it with patience. I found myself biting my lip a few times as I watched him read a passage of a poem or explain something to me. Ok so maybe I was starting to like Mr Walker a little. Little being an understatement.
Spritzing myself with my mum’s favourite perfume I smiled. It was something I liked to do when she was away on projects it made me feel as though she was with me. She had a beautiful aroma about her, she was always mingled with a fruity yet sophisticated smell. Heading downstairs my dad smiled up at me from the breakfast bar.
“Honey you look beautiful as usual”
“Thank you dad” I smiled. He was always giving myself and my mum compliments.
“Where are you heading?” He asked.
“Just across the road to Erin’s boyfriend’s house. George. He’s cooking for me, Erin and Josh. Seen as it looks like he’s going to be spending a lot of time with us he’s making the effort to get to know us. And at the moment he’s making a very good first impression”
“Sounds it. If you need anything just call me… or Chace” His voice noted a little strictly.
“I’m only across the road dad. Literally where the new people moved in last week. But I promise I will call you or Chace if I need anything” I reassured him as the doorbell went. Moving round the breakfast bar to give him a kiss I watched as he stood.
“Dad honestly” I groaned reaching up to peck his cheek.
“I’m only walking to the door”
Heading to the door he reached it first opening it he relaxed when he noticed it was Josh and Erin.
“Mr Jones” Josh sounded politely.
“Josh… Erin” He smiled.
“Hey Mr J. Wow Leila” Erin beamed.
“See you later dad” I smiled giving him a peck again.
“Bye honey” He said watching us walk down the drive before shutting the door.
