Chapter 12
Walking through the corridors to my tutoring lesson with Mr Walker I could feel my heart begin to race. I had been anxiously staring at the clock since lunch waiting for this. Reaching his door I was about to knock when I froze suddenly a swarm of butterflies entered my stomach. Taking a deep breath before breathing it out I knocked. Hearing Mr Walker shout ‘come in’ I walked into the room to see him on the phone frowning. As soon as he saw me his eyes lit up and a massive grin appeared on his face.
“Sorry Ant something’s just come up I’ll speak to you later mate” He spoke down his mobile before ending the call “Hey Lei” he smiled. I smiled as a reply and at the use of my nickname.
“Let’s get started then” he stood up and grabbed a chair sitting it next to his at his desk.
Forty minutes later and we were coming to the end of the session. I was surprised at how good I had suddenly become at English. I guess it was all down to Mr Walker. I thought I would have become worse at English if anything. I looked up at him a smile plastered on my face. He had his head resting on his hand using the table as a support for his elbow.
“That’s it” He smiled “English is quickly becoming your thing”
“It is” I replied mirroring his smile.
“Personally I think it’s all down to your amazing new English teacher” He smirked standing up and I followed his actions.
“Oh you do, do you?”
“I do” He grinned. Damn he looked good.
“Hm” I frowned a little “I may agree a little” I added holding my thumb and index finger an inch apart.
He grinned again before his face slipped into a serious expression. I watched his eyes flicker between my eyes and lips and I found myself doing the same. Gently he edged closer to me until our bodies were an inch apart. Bringing his left hand up to my cheek he tucked a stray hair behind my ear. Looking into my eyes his face edged closer until our lips were a centimetre apart. I could feel his warm breath against my skin a tingle following in its wake, he was waiting for permission. My heart began to beat tenfold and my stomach was doing cartwheels.
Hesitantly I brought my hand up to his cheek I smiled before closing the gap and our lips touched ever so softly. He pulled away only a centimetre searching my eyes to see if I wanted this. Once he’d made his decision he brought his other hand up to my opposite cheek as I let my hands wrap around his neck pulling him closer I gave him one last assuring look and our lips crashed together. Feeling his tongue trace the bottom of my lip I granted him access. The kiss became deeper and more passionate every emotion that had built up since the first day I had laid eyes on him coming out.
His hands fell from my cheeks and rested on my waist. I stopped suddenly pulling away from him realisation washed over me. His eyes were still shut it would have been funny if this feeling of dread hadn’t come over me. Opening his eyes he looked at me confused.
“I- I should go” I hurriedly grabbed my bag “I um- I don’t think it’s a good idea to do these sessions anymore” I added dashing towards the door.
“Leila. Leila please” I heard him call after me but his voice was just a noise in the distance as I ran through the corridors each step taking me closer to my car.
