Erin’s POV.

“What’s up with Lei?” Josh asked as he got closer to me.

“I don’t have a clue. She’s got a swollen eye and a bruise on her cheek. I asked her about it and she got all touchy” Josh’s eyes widened as I spoke to him.

“Don’t freak Erin but…” He stopped shaking his head.

“What Josh?”

“Promise me you won’t freak?”

“Yea, yea I promise” I was growing impatient.

“Well the other day. When we were at the beach um… Mar- Mark was texting Leila. I don’t know if that’s coincidence or…” Josh trailed off. I could feel the anger boiling inside of me if he had so much as laid a finger on Leila he was dead.

“Did she text him back?”

“I don’t know. I told her not to” Josh sighed.

“We need to find her now. I swear if he’s laid one finger on her…” I stormed off with Josh following in my trail.

We must have covered the whole school in about five minutes and she was nowhere. I had asked almost everyone but they hadn’t seen her either. Sighing I looked at Josh whose face was covered with worry.

“Erin what if he’s taken her”

“Don’t be so stupid Josh” I glared at him “She’ll be here somewhere”

I jumped as the bell sounded. The corridors were empty as me and Josh walked to homeroom great we were late. Mr Daniels seemed to be losing the plot as he got older anyway so being late wasn’t exactly a big deal. Opening the classroom door my eyes shot to Leila’s desk which was empty. I scanned the room she was nowhere to be seen.

Heading to my desk I sat and pulled out my phone and searched for Leila number.

Lei where are you… what’s up?x

Leila’s POV.

My phone buzzed as I switched the engine of the car on. It was Erin. Chucking my phone onto the passenger seat I put my seat belt on and sped out of the parking lot. I was not prepared to spend another minute in that place not when I had this on my face. So I was just going to go home and… and, well stay in my room I guess until the swelling and bruising went. Shaking my head I sighed there was no way I was going to be able to avoid my dad and Chace. Especially Chace. No doubt Erin and Josh would come round the house as well.

Erin’s POV.

Ten minutes later and no reply. Ok I must admit now I was a little worried. What Josh had said about Mark was playing on my mind. Surely he wouldn’t have the balls to kidnap Leila. He did hit her so I wouldn’t put it past him, turning to look at Josh who was watching me intently I sighed.
