"This is so good, Elise! I love it! We are going to make so much money of it and because of that, your salary will be raise!" Seungcheol exclaimed, as Elise smiled.

"Now, is there anything you want other than the promotion? Perhaps, a new watch or accessory will do?" Seungcheol asked, as Elise chuckled, and shook her head off.

"Mr. Choi." Elise called, as her boss hummed in response.

"Will you recommend me to one of your branch in France?"

Elise returned to her desk with a smile, as she sat down on her seat. "Let me guess," Rose, one of her colleagues whose desk were also near her cubicle, spoke.

"He gave you a promotion?" Rose asked, as Elise shook her head.

"I asked for another thing."

"Woah, what is it?" Rose asked curiously.

"I asked him if he can put me to another branch which is in France."

"Wow, France? For real?!" Rose exclaimed, as Elise nodded her head.

"And what'd he say?"

"He said, he'll try to reach up to one of the board of directors." Rose plastered an amaze expression before giving me a suspicious look.

"Why of all places, France? Don't you want to be in the U.S?" She asked, as I smiled at her.

"But I want to be in France, for real."

At the end of the day, Elise had finished her work, at the same time, she started to fix some of her legal documents, so her departure to France would be easy. Elise was about to walk to the elevator when the old landlady approached her.

"Elise, a messenger came, and dropped a letter for you," The old lady made her way to Elise.

"Since you're not her, I took it." She added, as she handed Elise the letter.

"Thank you." Elise smiled, as the old lady smiled back.

"No problem." Elise had never received a letter before since every person that she would interact with, would just text her nor call her through the phone. Now that she received a letter, she find it quite interesting at the same time, peculiar.

"From...J.W.W?" She muttered under her breath, as she got inside the elevator, and pressed the floor number where she lives in.

Elise had dried her hair, right after putting on some sweats, and hoodie. She sat down in the dining area, but instead of eating her dinner. She decided to read the letter first.

Dear Elise,

I am writing you this letter for I cannot bear your absence anymore. It makes me sick to think that you are not in my arms. I trust that will be back because you promised me. My love, please do not fail me for I will always wait and long for you even if the universe tries to separate us. I do not care how long will it take for you to be back, as long as you will...for real.

I have been going out lately to get my skin used to the sun because when you come back here, I want us to go horseback riding, go on fancy lunch at famous restaurants, go on picnics, walk around the park while holding hands, and also I want to watch operas with you. I hope it is not too much, I just really miss spending time with you.

Anyway, How are you doing? How is work? is your boss giving you a hard time again? Do you want me to lecture him? Kidding aside, I hope you are doing fine in there. Get some good slumber, eat healthy food, and always smile because your smile is always my remedy.

Sincerely, votre amour

Elise cannot smiled, and chuckle upon reading the letter. She find it quite amazing on the way her writes, and at the same time, she felt sad because she does not know when she will be able to go back to him.

I really hope Mr. Choi gets me a position to their branch in France. - She thought to herself.

At first thought, Elise thought that she can quit her job and live with Wonwoo, but that would be too risky. She love writing so much, and it has been her dream to become a journalist since then, which is why she is taking risk. Other people might choose career over love, while some do the opposite, but as for Elise. She chose both.

"I still cannot see her future." Wonwoo stifled a sigh, as he stood by the window of his office, looking outside the enormous lawn.

The sun is about to rise in any minute, and all servants will wake up to serve him. Wonwoo can no longer distinguish the dates, since he has been awake for days, trying to see when she will be back.

"Maybe, she won't be back." Han, the talking cat, teasingly smirked, as Wonwoo shot the little feline a glare.

"You should be thankful that I took you in to my home, you ungrateful creature," Wonwoo scoffed, as the cat giggled.

"I would've given you to Vlad, so he could impale you." The cat glared at Wonwoo before speaking.

The mysterious talking cat and Wonwoo met during the sixth cholera epidemic of 1899. Han is a magical creature whom was affected by the virus, but instead of dying, the cat regained an ability to talk like human and became immortal. The cat was stubborn which made Wonwoo thought about giving him away for many times.

However, considering Wonwoo's loneliness, he kept the cat and it became his companion throughout his journey.

"Well, forgive me, master, but I am just saying the truth to prepare you," Wonwoo fell into silence, as he heard the cat's words. Wonwoo had stuffed both of his hands inside his pocket.

"How about," The cat trailed off, as he jumped onto the office's desk, which made Wonwoo to turn around.

"We look at this rose as our ticking clock," Wonwoo rose an eyebrow, as he diverted his gaze at the rose placed on a vase on his desk.

"If all the petals fell before she arrives, therefore, she won't be back,"

"But if she gets back before it even withers, therefore, the two of you are destined." Wonwoo smirked at the cat.

"Fine, I agree." The cat hopped down from the desk.

"Good luck, master." The cat said before walking away.
