{Chapter Five - City Of Angels}
~ I just never know how you feel,
Do you even feel anything? ~- 8
"Look what I can do!"
The young girl ran up to Cordelia, with her hands clasped over each other. She opened her hands, revealing a dead butterfly.
"Oh, sweetie, don't play with dead things."
The girl ignored her, and closed her hands once again. She closed her eyes too, her brow knitted into a frown as she concentrated. When she opened her hands again, the butterfly was alive, and flew from her hands.
"Oh, that is wonderful!" Cordelia praised, looking at her daughter with glee.
"Thanks, mommy." The girl responded, and Cordelia's heart soared. This was the first time she had called her mom since she adopted her.
"Where's my real mommy and daddy?"
Cordelia sighed, she knew that this question would come one day.
"They're gone."
"Like the butterfly was?"
"Yes, like the butterfly was."

"Hey Nate?" Elora called, her head poking out of the cupboard where she was sitting. "Do you know where I put that box my mom gave me?"
"Huh?" Came Nathan's response. Elora rolled her eyes and stuck her head back inside, using her phone as a flashlight to see through the mess. Even though they hadn't been living in their apartment for that long, it was quite messy.
Elora was looking for her box full of her 'witchy' things, and she kept it shoved in the back of the cupboard. She wanted to find some charms to get rid of the strange energy that LA seemed to have.
Finally, she came across a box that had her name scribbled messily on the top, and she set up her phone so she could see. It was too risky to take the box out in the open and risk Nathan seeing something that told him she was a witch.
She hadn't had time to properly look through the box, so she laid out the contents on the floor in the small space that she had in front of her.
She flicked through a pile of paper that had recipes for remedies and the sorts that Cordelia and Misty had written out together, and ripped out pages from spell books that were cut and pasted together.
She found a charm that she liked the best, then placed everything back in the box. However, one particular piece of paper in the box caught her eye. It looked slightly older and was a different color to the others. She pulled it out of the pile, and scanned over it.
It was her adoption papers, and Elora smiled slightly to herself. Cordelia must have put these in the box by accident. She was about to leave the cupboard, and call Cordelia to tell her that she accidentally left her adoption papers in this box, when her eye caught two signatures at the bottom of the front paper.
