{Chapter Twelve - Could It Be... Jesus?}

~ And if she grabs for your hand,
And drags you along,
She might want a kiss,
Before the end of the song ~

"But mom!"

"No buts! She's a lot older than you and more mature!"

"She's only a year older, and I'm mature for my age!"

"Elora, you're only 16! I'm not letting you go with her!"

"She's my best friend!"

"Honey, Madison is a terrible influence on you."

"Oh, so I'm terrible?"

"Elora, you are an incredibly sweet girl. Madison is taking advantage of you."

"You're ruining my life! Madison is helping me be a normal teenager!"

Cordelia sighed, and rubbed her forehead. The girl bit her lip as she regretted her outburst.

"I-I didn't mean that."

"I know, honey." Cordelia enveloped her daughter in a hug, before pulling away.

"You know what, you can go. But no alcohol and no boys. I can't stand seeing my little girl all grown up!"

"Mom... you're embarrassing." The girl groaned, but she was smiling. "Any luck with... you know what?"

"No... I'm still not pregnant." Cordelia said softly.

"Don't worry, it will happen. It's probably Hank's DNA that's messing things up."

"Elora!" Cordelia hit her daughter's arm playfully, earning a giggle from her. She went to leave the room, until Cordelia spoke up again, "Hey, and make sure you make the new girl welcome, when she arrives tomorrow."

"Sure."

"We have so much to catch up on." Michael insisted, pacing his small room. Elora could barely see him in the dimly lit room.

"Yeah?" Elora sat crosslegged on his bed. "My life has been pretty boring. Tell me about yours."

"The school has been great! Now that I know I'm a warlock I've been able to really master my powers." Michael said excitedly. Elora was happy to see him happy, but part of her was sad that he had the year of his life and she spent hers missing him. He stopped his pacing, and climbed onto the bed next to her. "Elora, I've found my purpose. Our purpose."

"Our... purpose?" Elora questioned, and Michael took her hand. She had no idea what he was talking about.

"We are destined for great things, El! Our souls are connected, I can tell." Michael intertwined their fingers, and Elora looked up at him.

"Michael, did you miss me?"

"Yes, of course I did!" Michael frowned.

"Because it kind of sounds like you've moved on from me."
