{Chapter Thirteen - Girl Wonder}

~ I know what the boys want, I'm not gonna play ~

- Lolita

"Honey, I can't let you."

"That's not fair."

Cordelia faced the direction of her daughter's voice, although she wasn't quite sure where the girl was.

"I know I'm not the next supreme... but why?"

"You're too young."

"We both know that isn't the reason."

"Elora, be realistic. How may of the seven wonders can you definitely do?"

The girl didn't answer. She wasn't completely sure.

"Uh... Telekinesis, Vitalum Vitalis..."

"See? It isn't as easy as it seems." Cordelia answered. "Come here,"

She opened her arms, inviting her daughter towards her. The girl allowed Cordelia to hug her, but wasn't convinced.

"If you'd just let me try the other five won-"

"Elora, that's enough." Cordelia snapped. "I couldn't live with myself if I allowed you to get hurt. You will help Kyle set the tasks up."

"But you're letting the other sisters put themselves in danger. What about Misty?"

Cordelia sharply inhaled, and pictured her daughter's smug expression. "Misty is more than capable of the seven wonders. So are the other girls."

"Hmm..." Elora tried to contain a giggle, but she couldn't. The minute Misty had arrived at the coven, her mother had been quite... fond of her. Elora relentlessly teased her mother about this.

Cordelia did not answer, pretending not to notice Elora's teasing.

"Mom, I think you're the next supreme." The girl said after a while.

"Don't be silly, Elora."

Over the next 2 weeks, Elora and Michael worked on their powers relentlessly. The last thing Elora wanted was to look like a fool during the test. What if she couldn't even get past the first wonder?

The other boys at the school gawked at her, they were not used to having a girl around, and the teachers treated her with unexpected respect. She had left the witches, so in their eyes, she was no longer an enemy.

"We gather at the cusp of the Blood Moon to anoint and protect our brother and his ally before they undergo the rigors of the Seven Wonders." Ariel spoke. Michael and Elora stood in the centre of the room, hand in hand, the warlocks creating a ring around them. "Let the blessings begin."

"Salt from the Earth. May all hindrance and malignity be cast forth hence, and let all good enter." Behold sprinkled salt into a small bowl that Ariel was holding.

"Water from the sea. To cleanse all impurities and uncleanliness." John Henry spoke next, conjuring water and pouring it into the bowl.

"Blood from the body." Ariel held a dagger to his hand, and Elora flinched as he cut into his flesh, letting the blood drip into the bowl.
