Chapter 24

A whole month has passed since you started being a trainee. You thought that being a trainee will not change a major part of your daily routine but you're badly mistaken.

After signing to your company your school schedule was adjusted so you can balance your school and your duties as a trainee. Luckily they allowed you to still be a member of the theater club though the time you can allocate for club duties was very low.

But even though your new life is kinda hard, you are enjoying this. The staffs and the trainers are very kind and very good at what they do. They care for you and they always make sure that you're not overworked. Sometimes they will be strict with you but you know it is for your own sake since they want you to succeed in the future.

The only problem you have in your company is…

The fact that you are literally the only trainee active in the company right now. You told Jonathan that he should scout for more talents but he just told you that the company is currently focusing on making your debut as soon as possible.

While you are busy in your new life, Minju is also very busy preparing for her debut.

She and her fellow members are always rehearsing all the time but unlike the past rehearsal, she is now enjoying it too since the fear of getting eliminated is now gone too.

And she was also excited that she and her members will also have a variety show. 

But, even though you and Minju have a very busy schedule now, you two always update each other on what's currently happening on both of your respective ends.

At first, Minju was shocked that you agreed to be a trainee since she thought that you had zero interest in that field. Though she's a little bit upset that you didn't join her company…

You mean, you didn't get an offer from Urban works and you're not that desperate that time so there's that.

Still, she told you that she will support you 100% on this new challenge ahead of you and you are thankful for it.

Meanwhile

Jonathan is currently in a meeting with the CEO of Crystal Beat and some high-ranking officials from Big Hit to discuss your future.

The meeting went smoothly since Jonathan recorded some footage while you were acting and fortunately, they are liking what they are seeing from you.

It went so well that one of the investors suggested that they should already put your profile on the company website and while the others suggested that the Crystal Beat CEO should already find you an acting project right now.

Jonathan tried rejecting them because he thinks that you're not ready yet but the Big Hit officials told him to shut up since he is just a mere scout.

The CEO agreed to the suggestions of the Big Hit officials and promised that the company will provide good results.

After that meeting

Jonathan asked the CEO or rather…

His father on why he agreed to the greedy proposals of Big Hit Officials regarding your future.

Jonathan tried to reason that it will put tremendous pressure on you if you debut ill-prepared and it might destroy your career and the reputation of the company but his father just told him that…

You're just a mere stop-gap measure while the higher-ups in Big Hit are still not making up their minds if they want to debut a girl group that Crystal Beat will manage.

His father explained that if the company continues to operate without any talent of any sort in the entertainment industry, Big hit might shut them down and he can't let that happen so the company will be using you as a guinea pig.

If you succeed then good.

But if you fail?

Then you will be thrown out like a piece of garbage.

Jonathan left his father's office in disbelief at what his father has become. Even though he disagrees on how the higher-ups are doing this.

He understands that no matter how cruel it might seem, this entertainment industry is still a business. Success is not guaranteed and the chances of failing are very high.

"Y/n you better be really good for your own sake but I will also help you behind the scenes to make sure that you will be a successful actor in the future…

even if it means me having to use some underhanded tactics."
