Chapter 6: The Meat Invader

It was early in the morning. Soma was peacefully sleeping on bed, until Satoshi spoke up through a megaphone.

Satoshi: Good Morning, Soma-kun. I'd like your help with something. Can you come out once

Soma wakes up still sleepy.

Soma: I was up late last night. I'm dead tired. Please ask someone else.

Satoshi appears from the ceiling.

Satoshi: Oh, don't be like that.

Soma: That's where you were!?

(Later)

Soma was walking outside with Yuki and Yusuke.

Yuki: *laughs* You two were woken up, too?

Soma: I guess you were, too, Yoshino?

Yusuke: So what are we supposed to be helping out with, anyways?

Yuki: We're going to harvest veggies from the back garden.

Soma: Wow, you guys even grow your own ingredients?

Yuki: *laughs* The road to good food is paved with good ingredients! That's our dorm's motto, you see.

As they were walking, they saw Shun cutting wood with a chainsaw.

Yusuke: What's he doing?

Yuki: Ibusaki makes smoke wood for his own use, and Ryoko who specializes in dishes using rice malt, has her own workspace.

Yusuke: And what about you?

They stopped by a small farm of chickens.

Yuki: I want to breed a special Polar Star chicken like the french Bresse chicken. So I'm breeding some cage-free right now.

Yusuke: Intersting.

Then, they went to multiple small crop fields.

Yuki: And this is the lot we managed, with Isshiki-senpai as... our leader!

They looked at the large field.

Yuki: It's a field where we grow over ten kinds of vegetables!

Yusuke and Soma looked in awe, but they stopped when they noticed Satoshi working in a half-naked state.

Satoshi: Good morning, Soma-kun, Yusuke-kun, Yoshino-kun!

Yusuke/Soma: ...o_o...

Yuki: ...-_-...

Satoshi: Morning labor is good for the spirit! Let's sweat together!

Soma: It fits him to a T!

Yusuke: Yeah...

Satoshi: Knowing how food grows is part of our training. You can call this the Polar Star farm, or even Isshiki farm.

Soma/Yusuke: Okay.

Megumi: Oh, Soma-kun, Yusuke-kun!

They look to the side and see Megumi approaching them with some vegetables.

Soma: Oh, Tadokoro. You're here, too?

Megumi: See? Isshiki-senpai grew these vegetables. Don't they look delicious?

Soma: Y'know... seeing you here is very soothing.

Yuki: Yeah, Megumi's a breath of fresh air at Polar Star.

Yusuke: And I can see why.

Megumi: Hm???

Satoshi takes a tomato and gives it to Soma.
