Part 19 : Talk between the ones who once lost it all

His blue eyes never leave her. The woman who caused all of this. The woman who created chaos and have taken many lives with her hands. But just like him, she too once lost.

And she will finally regain back what she once lost.

"Why are you doing this?" Joker spoked. He tried to minimise movement as much as he can. The chains holding him were strong and tough, plus, he didn't have any of his weapons.

Joker has been turn back to his original form - or size. He no longer in his kid form, now in his much older form. Something he could be happy about, but not now. His life was on the line.

Instead of answering, Matilda chose to ignored him. She have made research about the thief, study about him and his tricks full of mischief. She rather checking everything went well than talking to him. Better focused on receiving back what would make her heart content again.

"Hey!" the thief shouted when he receive no reply. The least he ever need was to know what the heck were going on "Answer me, you stupid #####!"

Matilda frowned. She will not accepted such a foul language coming out from his mouth — who soon will be her son again. She wished she could just gag him, but she didn't want her baby to be waking up with a gag. She even making sure the chains held Joker in the most comfortable way, tho it was still tight. Don't wanna her child to have bruises in his future body.

"#####!! I'm talking to you! Are you deaf or something?!"

An irked mark appeared on her forehead. This boy really challenging her.

"You know, thief," she snarled "I wish I could just slap your face off, but I don't want Matthew to be waking up with a bruise cheek."

What?

What does she mean?

Joker was confused was an understatement. How can Matthew - whoever that is - be hurt if it was him who being slapped?

The confusion must be writing on his face, cause Matilda smirked seeing the expression from the corner of her eyes "What? Veronica didn't tell you?"

Joker gulped. To be honest, Veronica really didn't tell him anything. She only gave him some clues.

"She didn't tell me what?" if there was waver in his tone, he ignored it. And hoped that she didn't notice it too.

Yeah she did noticed the nervousness, and fear. But she didn't comment it. Her purpose of bringing him here was for her son. Not making fun of some thief.

She sighed, spun around and faced the silver hair boy. Why did Veronica didn't tell him the whole thing? It was so much easier - well, for Matilda at least. She didn't have to explain the whole thing to Joker.

"Hey! I'm asking you!" Joker shouted, yet still feared for his life "What she didn't tell me about?"

Matilda stared at him, deadpanned. Her hand on her hips while her other hand rested on the table. There were blueprints on it, scattered around.

"Did she ever told you what I've once lost?"

Joker thought. Yeah that crazy scientist did gave him a clue. And he was almost so sure about his answer.

"You...lost your husband?"

The reaction he get was unexpected. The boss hissed, eyebrows knitted together and the expression of pain and disgust painted on her face.

"No," she stated, eyes darkened — and Joker almost thought he unleashed a tiger from their cage "That bastard are not worth to be remembered. Did you really think I bother to see him even a glance?" she asked, and the answer was obvious thanks to her tone. It was filled with malice, hatred.
