ANGELIC – CHAPTER NINETEEN
"Go out with me."
"No!"
"Why not?"
"Because - because I hate you!"
Erwin shook his head, his smile so wide it practically reached his eyes. "Why won't you? Do you need flowers? I'll bring you flowers if that's what you require, Hazel."
"You're insufferable!"
Nile laughed loudly as he slapped his hand on the blond's shoulder, a wide grin on his face as the duo sat opposite Hazel and Marie. The former, Hazel, glared at his friend with fiery jade eyes, a look so deadly that if looks could kill he would've died on the spot. "I seriously hate you, Smith."
"Come on now, Hazel." Erwin's eyes softened as he rested his head in his hand. "Let me take you out, I know you don't really hate me."
She scoffed and turned her head, her dark ponytail whipping across her face in the process, he had to suppress the laugh that wanted to escape his lips as he watched her mutter under her breath and push her hair back. "I do, and stop calling me by my first name! You don't have the privilege to call me that, Smith, we are not friends!"
"Alright then, Glenn, why can't we be friends?"
Hazel slammed her hands on the table and pushed herself up, once stood up she hooked her arm through Marie's and pulled the woman to her feet, still glaring down at Erwin. "You think you're better than all of us because you want to join the Scouting Legion, sorry I don't want to throw my life away like you do on a whim."
As he watched her walk away he didn't say anything back, there wasn't any point. He didn't think he was better than everyone else, but she would never believe him, so what was the point? Nile's hand gripped his shoulder and he shook him slightly. "You know what I think?"
"Do I want to know?"
The dark haired man rolled his eyes and pointed at the two girls with his spare hand. "I don't think Glenn actually hates you."
"Really?" He asked sarcastically as he stood to his feet. "I think a titan could've pieced that one together."
Nile furrowed his eyebrows. "And where do you think you're going?"
"I'm going after her of course." Erwin shrugged as he stepped away from the bench already heading towards the duo. "I refuse to take no for an answer."
The dark haired man sighed and ran a hand down his face, though he couldn't help but smile as he watched the blond jog over to the women. "Go get her, Erwin." He whispered, more to himself.
The taller man jogged around the two girls and stopped in front of them, a small smile on his face as he blocked their path, his attention on Marie. "Marie, Nile said he needed to discuss something with you it sounded urgent, I will accompany Glenn in your absence."
"Did he now?" Her lips curled into a smirk as she glanced at Hazel. "I suppose I shouldn't keep him waiting."
Hazel's mouth dropped open in shock as she watched her friend turn around and walk towards the table they had just abandoned due to Erwin's obvious lie. "Traitor!" She yelled over her shoulder. Once she turned around she internally groaned at Erwin's grinning face. "You." She said in distaste.
Her eyes lowered to his hands to see three blue flowers in his hands, clearly plucked from the patch beside his feet. He held them out to her, his cheeks dusted slightly pink. "I got the flowers. Will you go out with me now?"
