Dinner with the with the Hollands.

To say that I was terrified would be an understatement.

I didn't have to go to set that day so I just came home normally after school. (Still haven't told my school friends about the movie...)

I quickly did my homework and then proceeded to start stressing over dinner tonight.

So I used my only available resource as a teenage girl with a big secret....

I called my best friend.

Her name is Ella. She's in my class and I swear I would be dead without her. She was the only one who knew about my double life and also the only one I could consult on my Marvel issues.

"Sup bitch" I heard her say.

I sighed with relief.

"Thank God you picked up I'm stressing the hell out about dinner tonight"

"Calm down weirdo, it's gonna be fine. Tom loves you and you said that the boys were all sweet. I mean, they're Hollands, of course they're sweet. You have nothing to worry about"

I sighed again.

"But what the hell am I supposed to wear?!?" I begged.

"Remind me where you're going again?" She asked.

"Tartine" I reminded her.

"Ahh, in that case I say blue dress, white shoes, and the blue stone necklace and ring I got you for Christmas last year" she said practically instantaneously.

I smiled and put on the outfit and we continued talking.

After I put my hair in a half up, half down style and put on my makeup I put the finishing touches on my outfit with some earrings.

Just like that, I was ready.

I hung up with Ella and Tom texted me that he was downstairs with the boys.

I took a deep breath and left my apartment, ready for some chaos.

I went outside my building to find a black suburban car with Tom in the front. He was wearing black sunglasses and honked the horn once.

"Sup weirdo, need a ride"

I smiled and ran up to the car and got in the back.

Tom and Harry were in the very front, Sam and Paddy were in the middle row, but Paddy refused to let me sit in the very back so he climbed in the very back while I sat next to Sam.

As we drove through the brightly lit New York City we listened to music and sang along badly. Tom and I were the only ones with decent voices so it was basically us just screaming along to the radio as we drove to the east village. Tom parked, and we all entered the restaurant.

It was a small little quaint restaurant, with Oceanside decor. We sat at a table and ordered lemon San Pellegrinos for everyone. We sat and laughed for a few minutes before ordering. I got the spicy chicken and so did Paddy and Sam. Harry and Tom both got Chicken Parmesan.

We began talking about our lives and getting to know each other and everything was just fine until Paddy went to the bathroom.

"So Y/n, how long have you been in love with Paddy?" Harry asked.

I damn near spat out my drink.

I coughed "what?!"

Tom nudged Harry. "Lay off her mate"

Sam studied me. "Toms right Harry, Paddy could never get a girl like her"

"So Sam, what have you been working on recently?" I asked trying to change the subject.

Sam was eager to talk about his work and spent the next 5 minutes straight talking about the perfect consistency of ganache.

Paddy came back from the bathroom and things continued on normally.

As the night went on, my fear slowly began to disappear and I felt myself more comfortable around them.

Sam told me the story of the time that Paddy got lost on a family trip to Hong Kong and spent an hour sitting in a Chinese restaurant yelling at some poor old lady who didn't speak english.

Paddy then countered with the time that Sam accidentally set the kitchen on fire when he forgot to turn the stove off. He was up late cooking and he was so tired he forgot. The smoke alarms went off and by the time everyone was downstairs half the kitchen was engulfed in flames.

"Liar! No, no, no this is inaccurate information!" Sam tried to protest as I laughed my head off.

Everyone else was shaking with laughter as well while Sam tried to defend himself.

"The switch was broken and the flames were very contained. I had it all under control"

That was the last straw and we all burst out laughing again.

I listened to story after story as we all laughed and sat together.

Hours later we still there.

We had finished dinner a long time ago and the restaurant was about to close. We ran out and as we walked back to where Tom parked, we saw the original Magnolia bakery.

None of the Hollands had ever tried Magnolia so being the New Yorker I was I dragged their sorry asses to go get cupcakes.

They thanked me later as we sat on a bench stuffing our faces with cupcakes.

We finished our cupcakes and walked to where Tom had parked.

Being the genius he is, he parked in a no parking zone and got a ticket. Tom grumbled while the rest of us laughed our heads off.

On the way back Harry drove, claiming that Toms driving will make everyone puke. Sam sat in the middle row complaining about the number of red lights Harry was blowing last.

Paddy and I sat in the very back observing.

"Want an AirPod?" He whispered as Sam yelled
"Mate you almost hit that old lady!!"

I laughed quietly and took the AirPod Paddy held out.

We listened to chill music as we continued to drive through New York City while Tom and Sam harassed Harry about his driving abilities.

"That's the third red light you've ran in the past five minutes" Tom pointed out.

"Ok will everyone just can it for a second?!" Harry yelled finally.

We all laughed. I could feel my eyelids start to grow heavy and without thinking I rested my head on Paddy's shoulder.

I quickly sat up.

"Sorry" I mumbled.

"It's okay" he said with a small laugh and put my head back down on his shoulder. I smiled and silently thanked god that it was dark and no one could see how hard I was blushing.

All too soon we arrived at my building. The boys said their goodbyes and dropped me off.

I went straight to my room and dramatically flopped on my bed, smiling like crazy.

I hope you guys liked this chapter! Tarting is one of my favorite restaurants in New York so that's why I choose it. Feel free to imagine something else.
