New Beginnings (Hawk x Moon)

The Date

(Saturday)

The LaRusso House 

Moon POV

"You ok?" Sam asked me while I was deep in thought.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I answer avoiding her eyes. 

"Moon, we've been friends for a while. I can tell when something is bothering you."

I give up and decide to tell her the truth. "Its about Hawk."

"What about him?"

"Is he really trying to change?"

Sam looks kind of thrown off by the question. "I believe he is, but I'm not sure. He's doing a lot better than I expected at Miyagi-Do. He hasn't hurt anybody, offended anyone, and he seems to get along with my dad pretty well. Why?"

"I just need your opinion, I see him around and he looks like he's changed, but I wanted to be sure that what he's doing is real, not pretending to do something just so people think he's a good person."   

"Well, you won't know until you talk to him. Remember, you don't have to get back together right away. I'm sure he'll understand." 

"And I thought that I gave good advice." I joke.

I left an hour later cause Sam had karate practice and I had to get home. I decide to take her advice and talk to Hawk. I'll ask him tomorrow. I feel excited, I haven't felt this good since we first got together. Sure, I had a lot of boyfriends and girlfriends, but there was something about Hawk that made me feel something that I never felt before.  I also wonder if he still has that Moon tattoo.

The Next Day

(4:15 PM)

Hawk POV

I finally finished my punishment today. Mr. LaRusso kept me back and asked me to repeat the moves I used to sand the floor and paint the fences. I did the movements and we sparred for a minute while I blocked all his punches and kicks. Defense wasn't really my strong suit, but I managed to do it perfectly.

"Woah." I say surprised.

"Not bad, a little more practice and and no one will be able to lay a hand on you." Sensei LaRusso said impressed.

"This is how you were taught?" 

"Yep, I didn't think Mr. Miyagi was actually teaching me karate until he showed me how the lessons came together. All it takes is patience. I gonna head out, you going as well or are you staying here for a while?"

"I'm staying for a while."

"Alright, but make sure to lock up when you leave and clean any messes you make." 

"Sure."

He smiles at me then leaves. I still have some energy in me so I continue to work on the two-legged kick. After a couple of tries, I finally did it! I did it a few more times to make sure it wasn't just luck. But just like before, I did it flawlessly. Just as I thought that this day couldn't get any better, my phone rang and I saw Moon's contact. I answered and saw her beautiful face.

"Hey Moon, can't get enough of me?" 

"You keep telling yourself that." She answers teasingly. 

"So, what's going on?"

"I was just wondering if you wanted to go hangout at the beach or something." Moon tried to sound casual, but she did that little squeak thing whenever she was nervous about something.
