I woke early for the first day of senior year. I woke up mostly because my baby seems to love to torture me. My morning sickness has started to go down so that's good. I get up and get ready for school. I felt dizzy so I called Eli to pick me up since I didn't feel good driving. He pulls up and we head to school together. My parents told the school about my pregnancy and they promised to keep it secret. I would be excused from gym and any other activities that could harm the baby. I'd still have to exercise a little but that means I can't do cheerleading anymore which sucks. But one of the bright sides of this is that Eli and I are in all the same classes due to our baby.
I wasn't worried about people knowing that I was pregnant. When me and Eli went to my ultrasound. The doctor told us that since I was younger and fitter, that I wouldn't have much of a "baby bump" and I would (for the most part) not experience some pregnancy symptoms.
The first day went by without any incidents. I almost expected another school fight to break out. Why couldn't everyone just get along? Hawk acted more like a bodyguard than my boyfriend. He had a cold face almost like he was challenging someone to get in his way and make him mad. I hated when he was acting tough because he looked like a bully. He more than proved to me that he changed and was no longer a bully. Everything was actually normal for once. I saw some kids from Cobra Kai but without wearing their merchandise. Nobody in Miyagi-Do was wearing anything Miyagi related so I took this as a sign that they were starting to get along. It's only when I saw a glance from Kyler at Eli that looked like pure hate I realized that the feelings were still there.
It was only after school was when Eli came out. We'd talk and laugh on the drive home. But deep down, it felt weird to me that Eli seemed like two different people. When we were in public he'd act tough like Hawk. When it was just us or around friends, Eli would show with confidence. I love Eli but sometimes it scares me because I don't know who I love.
Today was my first day back to training with Sensei Lawrence. Ever since the tournament, Daniel and Johnny went their separate ways. Johnny finally got enough money together to open a new dojo and get proper equipment. All of Eagle-fang was there to help bring the dojo up to code, along with some Miyagi-Do's like Sam and Demetri. I was finishing mopping the back room and getting a drink of water when Sensei came in and closed the door behind him.
"Hey Hawk, how long has she been pregnant?" He asked calmly.
I choked on my water. How the hell did he know Moon was pregnant? We told no one!
I loudly whisper to him. "How do you know?!"
Sensei rolls his eyes in disbelief. "Kid, you're forgetting that I went through this shit too. The late nights worrying about what to do and the question "Am I gonna be a good father?" stuck in your head."
"She's about five months now. Baby started kicking at the end of the summer." I say with a smile remembering the first time I felt that kick.
Sensei smiles and walks over and puts his hand on my shoulder. "If you're gonna be a father, be there for your kid, don't be like me. But, I still want you to be a badass and take no shit."
I snicker at this and Johnny continues talking. "I wish I could've been there for Robby, but I was too scared. Don't make my mistakes."
I walk out of the mini mart with Moon holding my hand. We picked up snacks because Miguel invited us to a movie night with him and Sam. We were also planning to tell them since we figured that we want them to know since they're our friends.
We turn a corner and I'm hit in the face. I crash to the pavement and my sight goes blurry. When I recovered a few seconds later, I saw Moon being beaten by TORY. I get up and tackle her and start punching her. I had no control, just rage. I punched her until her face was more blood than skin and I got up and saw the damage I caused. I ran over to Moon who was crying and holding her stomach. I didn't think, I just picked her up bridal style and ran to my car. I put her in the back seat and drove like a maniac to the hospital. How I managed to get to the hospital was a miracle.
I pace the waiting room. I don't know what to do. I hope Moon and the baby are alright or I will not stop until I find and kill Tory Nichols. I hear my phone go off in my pocket and I answer it. It was Miguel.
"Hey, where are you guys? You said you'd be here by now." Miguel asks with Sam looking over his shoulder.
I'm about to respond when Miguel takes a closer look at my background.
"Are you in a hospital? What happened?!" Miguel says, concern and surprise in his voice.
At that moment, the doctor came in and I ended the call. I looked at that doctor and she motioned me to sit down and then started to talk.
"She's alright. A couple of scrapes and bruises but nothing serious."
"What about the baby?" I asked, praying that everything was fine.
She took a deep breath and answered. "When she came in, it appeared that she suffered a miscarriage. We had an ultrasound that unfortunately proved that. I'm so sorry for your loss."
