New Beginnings (Hawk x Moon)

Are you sure?

(Note: The timeline of this story takes place around the end of the school year)

Hawk POV

When I heard this, I don't know what I felt. If I had to explain it, think of the Earth as my brain. Then freeze everything down to the center of the earth and drop a shit ton of nukes on the planet and Earth is reduced to dust. That's how it felt when I heard the words.

"Eli!" Moon called at me, shaking my shoulders.

I zone back in and try to make sense of the situation. I calm myself down by thinking to myself that she thinks that she's pregnant. There's still a chance that she's not.

"Are you sure?" I asked, trying to diffuse the tension.

"I don't know, I haven't taken the test yet. I've been having morning sickness for the past couple of days, so yeah."

I take this as an opportunity to put her mind at ease. "Hey, maybe you're not pregnant or maybe you are. But whatever happens, I'm with you." I loved her and I didn't want to lose her again.

Moon smiles and hugs me. I hug her back and kiss her neck. "Until we know for sure, don't smoke weed or drink or anything like that."

"Ok. Let's keep this between, I don't want people to know." Moon gives me one last peck and then walks to Yasmine's car.

I decided to call an Uber home. The entire ride was quiet and quick. But inside my head, it was like a tornado of thoughts. What do I know about being a father? What if I have to quit school or karate? I arrived home and went straight to my room. I laid down on my bed and passed out.

Moon POV

I'm sitting on my bed waiting for the results of the pregnancy test. I don't understand how this could've happened. We were always careful and used protection. I nearly had a nervous breakdown at the thought of being pregnant or being a mom. I love kids and I want to be a mom, but I didn't think that I would become one when I was still in high school. I always thought I would meet my match in college or while traveling abroad. Then get married in my 20's. But I guess the universe had other plans. Maybe this is a positive blessing from the universe.

I look at my phone. Just one more minute until I could see the results. This is literally killing me. The pregnancy test is finally done and I take a deep breath and I flip it over.

Positive

The moment I see that word, I start crying. I don't even know if they are tears of happiness or tears of sadness. I must have been sobbing loudly, because my parents came into my room. They looked at the pregnancy test in my hand and put two and two together. They don't say anything, they just hold me in a sandwich hug. My dad tells me he loves me no matter what and my mom tells me that she supports me no matter what. Between sobs and hiccups, I tell them that Hawk is the father. They're kind of shocked because they didn't know that we had gotten back together. They were glad to hear that Hawk was going to stay with me no matter what.

I make a mental note to tell Eli after the tournament which is a few days away. He was stressed about the tournament already, he didn't need the distraction. I didn't know what to tell people. I hated to feel so alone. But I realized that I wasn't alone. Placing my hand on my stomach, I realized that I wouldn't be so alone.
