The ever-energetic James requests to have a look at the CCTV camera captures this morning. We are taken to the security room where we are shown the videos from this morning. On seeing me walking into the hospital with a couple of strangers, Marco screams in his top voice. "That's Harish, Tangi's schoolmate, he studies medicine in Columbia University. He along with a girl—I do not know her name—visited Tangi a month ago."

"Were you able to identify Harish's face, Ash?" James questions with raised eyebrows.

"I hardly remember his face." I say.

"James, let's do a face match of those two and track their numbers." Jennifer, the bold and beautiful cop, speaks for the first time.

"Friends... with a wrong intention." James says in a low tone.

James look at me from top to bottom and then Marco and asks, "Marco, tell us about Ashok and Tangi."

"Oh yes, Sure." Marco adjusts his voice and speaks, "Ashok is a techie, working for one of the technology giants and spearheads a next-gen technology for them in New York. Tangi is a sweet and outspoken individual. She works at a nearby superstore. They are married for more than year now." James scratches his beard, raises his eyebrows, and asks, "Marco, how long do you know them?"
"About six months... Ashok and I have spent many evenings over a cup of coffee or a pint of beer. And Tangi came to USA a couple of months ago. She was recovering from a dreadful car accident." Marco keeps it simple.

"Car accident?" I startle. James and Jennifer puzzles on seeing my reaction.
Jennifer asks, almost surprised, "Do you mean Ashok was here when his wife was recovering from a dreadful car accident?"

"Ashok had no other choice. He has to travel because of his professional commitments." Marco answers her question, which makes James question Marco, "It's surprising to see the level of information you have about your neighbour-cum-friend Ashok."
"I expected this question... Tangi invited me for a proper dinner a month ago. During our conversation, Tangi mentioned about Ashok's manuscript 'Coffee Date'.

I got excited and so I requested them to share if they are comfortable with it. Ashok instantly shared a copy in digital format for beta-reading; it was a quick read with lots of twists and turns in the story. When we discussed the story during our next catch-up, Tangi revealed that the love story is based on real-life events and I was equally shocked."

"A story about a story... sounds interesting." Jennifer asks curiously and, James adds to the conversation, "We can look at this case from two-different angles. One angle is Tangi and Ashok loved each other and married a year ago. This might have affected Person X who was in love with Ashok. To get back into Ashok's life, Person X planned to kidnap and kill Tangi. During the process, Person X had to injure Ashok at the same time, Person X made sure Ashok survived the attack with the help of friends. Person X must have robbed Ashok's wallet, mobile phone, and other documents, as they came to know that Ashok memory has failed him. Person X must have taken Tangi to a secluded spot, gifted her to friends' hunger and tortured her to death. Person X is known to Ashok, Tangi and Harish. Or the other angle is Tangi loved Ashok very much and married him. Since Ashok left her during the worst phase of her life, she felt dejected. To avenge Ashok, Tangi flew to the USA and with the help of her friends, she injured Ashok badly, took him to hospital and then to home. She must be celebrating her victory with her friends. Whatever be the case, our first step is to drill down the location of Tangi, Harish, unnamed person. Let's start with Ashok's mobile phone and trace them." James says, all at once, without any second thoughts.

"It cannot be Tangi. She can never harm me. Never ever. Never ever. Never ever. Never ever. Not in any of the seven lives." I say instinctive.

"Whoever it is, come... come... come... come on... let's go and take those bodies down." The visibly excited James rolls the gun and gets into front seat of the police car.
