JANUARY 1927

'DARK FORCES AT LARGE!' was the headline for the day's papers. The grim words did not match the bright morning that fell upon that particular day. With a steaming cup of tea, accompanied by the chirping of the birds from the nearby tree, Adelaide Lupin scanned the content of the Daily Prophet, looking for more clues that could help her in her line of work. It's been a year since she had gone out of the country; a year since being banned from doing her job outside of Britain.

Her boss, Bartholomew, had no choice but to relay such notice a few days after she came back from America. The Ministry was notified of her activities, alongside Newt and Keith, leading to the infamous Grindelwald's capture. She did a remarkable deed of playing a big role in his capture but, of course, there were casualties along the way, and she was reprimanded through the ban. In her mind, it was a stupid thing for them to do, but she had no control over it now.

Adelaide was only grateful that they didn't bring up the time turner that she had, and still has. She thought that she would only observe back then, following the rules whenever one uses the trinket. But she risked it, all for the ginger man, who wore a blue coat and got himself into trouble that night. Right now, she was waiting for the repercussions.

Her trance was interrupted when a female voice called from her kitchen. "Aren't you supposed to be at work already?" With that, comes in a new friend of hers, Jun Auburngard, Matthyas' sister, with another cup of tea in her hand, who sat on the chair across Ade. She had been visiting Lupin's house in Godric's Hollow on some occasions.

It's been a few months since Adelaide confessed that she had been dealing with strange dreams, often related to a flaming bird and a female with long and dark hair wearing a darker shade of the blue dress. Jun guessed that the flaming bird is a phoenix, though she couldn't confirm it since phoenixes rarely, or never, show up to anyone.
