"Tua Eng!?" Mew calls out as he enters his house.
A fleeting cold breeze passes thru him and a misty silhouette materialises by the sofa. "Phi, you're home!" A voice suddenly rings around the apartment.
Mew smiles as the face of his love takes form, a bright smile on his face. If anyone knew that Mew had been living with a ghost in his house, they'd think he had gone bonkers.
"I got sushi for dinner" Mew says as he toes off his shoes and heads towards the kitchen. Gulf floats beside Mew, hovering by the counter as Mew takes out a plate and puts the food on it.
Gulf looks at the sushi a bit forlornly. "Would it kill you to try crispy pork basil for once?"
"Is that your favourite dish?" Mew asks thru a mouthful of salmon.
"Yes!" Gulf nods enthusiastically. "But I think I'm allergic to seafood"
Mew loves it when Gulf drops little information's about himself that he remembers. He takes all these crumbs to his heart.
Mew had moved into the apartment a year ago, and being a metulu, he had felt the energy of another being in the house immediately.
He had felt himself being observed for the first week, and he had dropped small hints that he knows that he wasn't alone. And perhaps that's why this ghost trusted him enough to materialise in front of him one night.
He was instantly smitten with the bubbly ghost boy.
The ghost looked young, a mop of wavy curly hair, strong brows, straight nose and plump lips. Mew couldn't make out the skin colour because he was translucent, but Mew could imagine that he would be a few shades darker than Mew, the word "chocolate" suddenly popping in his head
"Hi, I'm Mew. What's your name?"
"I'm... not sure, what my name is""Do you have a preference as to what you want me to call you?"
The ghost had just shrugged"No." The boy pouted but suddenly looked up with a big smile. "Maybe you can give me a name!"
Mew contemplated on a few names, but when he looked up and saw those big bambi like eyes, the term of endearment just slipped out of his lips. "Tua Eng...""Tua Eng..." the ghost said it slowly.
Mew had sputtered and was about to cover his slip up when the ghost looked up at him brightly and said excitedly "I love it!"
A sigh of relief escaped Mew and suddenly, the ghost took the seat next to him. "You're really nice. Let's be friends!"
Over the course of the few months, their relationship got closer. The ghost boy would tell him bits and pieces of himself that he could remember, like his favourite sport, which is football, his favourite footballer, Hazard, the cat that he used to have, named Ju.Mew had offered part of himself as well. He told the boy about his favourite music, taught the boy about kpop, what he did for a living.
As time goes by, Mew finds himself falling deeper for the ghost. He knows it is not healthy, being in a one-sided relationship like this and what more with a ghost. But his treacherous heart didn't listen. His thoughts and heart were consumed by chestnut shaped lips, peals of laughter that sounded like wind chimes, and it reminds Mew of a beautiful spring day, in a field of sunflowers.
