Fluff

----------------------------------

Legends said in a tower, far away from the living world lived a princess, locked up in a tower. No one had ever seen it and the ones brave enough came back even before they had dared to step way into the tower, scared of the rumoured dragon protecting it.

One cold-hearted knight dared to make the journey, he wasn't scared easily and because of a bet with his friend he was now on his way to save the rumoured princess. He didn't believe in the legend at all but he didn't want to lose the bet.

So here he went, braving the rough and dangerous woods only baring a sword. The journey took long and the brave knight was losing hope on ever finding the tower.

Until...

Covered by thick branches of thorns and dark clouds he could make out a tower in the distance.

His heart started beating faster with excitement as he had thought it had all been just a rumour but seeing it for real now made him more curious who he would find there.

Upon arriving at the foot of the tower he became suspicious of the quietness. charred stones indicated there was definitely something like a dragon here. The ground was covered in it and it smelled like fire all around.

Where was the rumoured dragon? Had it all been made up? Was there even a princess?

He climbed the stairs carefully, sword ready for any sudden attack from the dragon. But even after going up the whole stoned stairs, he didn't encounter anything.

His steps started getting slower as he neared a closed door at the top of the stairs. Was this all a trap?

The brave knight shrugged and just decided to get it over with. Maybe there wasn't even a princess and was this just an abandoned tower.

His cold hand reached out to the doorknob and pushed the door open.

He held his breath as it creaked and was met with darkness and smoke, making the knight cough and gasp for air.

When the smoke cleared, he saw something glowing in the corner on a large bed. He curled his fingers tighter around his sword, ready to strike at any moment.

On the bed laid a creature, it seems. It was softly purring and smoke came from the little flames surrounding it.

Mew slowly stepped closer in wonder what it could be. Was this to be the rumoured princess?

When he was close enough, he saw that it was a dragon, but. It also looked human. A dragon shifter?

A weird feeling filled his chest as if tugging at his heart to take a closer look. Curiosity took over, his feet moved on their own and before he knew he was standing next to the bed.

he watched as soft puffs of smoke left the dragons lips and it glowed in the light making its scales glow golden.

The knight was instantly smitten by its beauty. He didn't know what came over him but he reached out, wanting to know how those scales felt under his finger. Just the littlest touch made him shiver as the heat from its skin travelled through his cold hands, warming his heart in an instant.

The dragon's chocolate eyes snapped open suddenly and flinched away from the hand touching him. It started hissing and pulling away from the knight, making the knight stumble back at the sudden awakening from the dragon.

But he wasn't afraid, on the contrary, he was intrigued by the beauty of the dragon shifter.

The dragon cocked its head when he saw that the knight wasn't scared of him. He observed the tall man and also felt a sudden calmness wash over him.

"w-who are you." the dragon shifter said in a hoarse voice, he hadn't used it in years, never encountered a human in all the time he had lived here.

The knight let out an unknown held breath and relaxed his body and put his sword away, not seeing any harm in the rumoured creature.

"I'm Mew, a knight." He put his hand out and slowly walked closer. "I won't harm you..."

The creature looked at him and slowly started coming closer again. He was curious by the brave soul who had woken him from his sleep.

"Why are you here? There isn't a rumoured princess living here."

The dragon crawled closer and sniffed the outstretched hand before touching it. His eyes lit up at the coldness and instantly cuddled into the cool hand, softly purring and closed its eyes as his skin started cooling down.

"I can see that now," Mew mumbled in trance by the beauty cuddling up in his hand. He felt his always cold body start to slowly warm up from the hot dragon purring against his hand.

His thumb unconsciously started stroking the soft scalps of its cheeks.

"why are you here then?"

He shouldn't have asked that; the dragon shifter stopped his movements and became quiet.

"The people put me here, I'm an adnomination to the human world, I'm the rumoured "princess" living here..." he said after some time in a soft mumble.

Mew felt his heart squeeze painfully for the lonely dragon shifter.

"May I ask your name?"

The dragon's eyes lit up and looked up at Mew.

"No one ever asked me that! I-I'm Gulf!" he exclaimed and cuddled even closer to the knight, making him stumble and fall back on the bed. He giggled when he fell on top of the knight.

"Sorry! I didn't mean to!" he pushed himself away but was immediately pulled back again.

"it's alright! I don't mind...at all" Mew said also a bit confused at his own answer. He really didn't mind at all and he loved how the dragon heated up his body and made his heart beat faster for the boy. He wrapped his hand around Gulf's and pulled him back, making the dragon shifter curl up against his chest again.

"Your hands are so cold, I love it" Gulf hummed and looked up into the dark eyes of the knight. He saw adoration swirl in them and a soft smile on the man's lips. He had always tried to find some kind of way to cool his overheated body and the moment he had felt the knight's cool hands he knew he never wanted or would ever find something else like this again.

Mew barely smiled at all but something about the boy made him want to smile only for him.

He had never known why he had always seemed and been so cold, his body just never seemed to be able to retain heat.

But the moment he had touched Gulf he had known this was why. He found the source of heat to warm his cold heart.

----

The dragon cooled down with the cold-hearted knight and the heart of the knight warmed by the heat of the dragon, making them the perfect pair.

They were instantly smitten for each other and love bloomed that day in the rumoured tower.

Legends said the brave warrior had died fighting off the mighty dragon when he never returned...

No one knew the truth.

Only the rumoured knight and dragon shifter which were curled together on the big bed. Mew softly stroked his fingers over the scalps on Gulf's back making his body heat up while he kissed the soft chestnut lips of the loving dragon shifter in his arms, never letting him be alone again.

He had finally found his source of heat...
