"you're beautiful, princess"

chapter one. -
"How's work?"
The soft voice of his wife greeted him as he walked through the door.
Taehyung just hummed in response, tugging at the collar of his shirt. He was exhausted. Work had drained him dry—signing endless documents, meeting deadlines his father pressured him about. One mistake, and he knew he'd never hear the end of it.
Jisoo quietly moved to the kitchen and started making him a hot cup of coffee. She didn't complain. She knew how stressful his job was and understood why he barely had time for her lately. She was the kind of wife who looked ahead, always thinking of their future, always patient.
"Here, drink your coffee first."
Taehyung set his phone aside and took the cup from her hands. Guilt instantly crept in. He could see the sadness in her eyes—even if she tried to hide it. He didn't mean to ignore her. He hated that he had no choice.
What hurt more was knowing he'd never cheated on her. Ever. He'd been loyal to Jisoo since the day they became lovers. Not even a kiss was shared with another woman. He loved her that much.
He yawned and pulled her in for a hug, kissing her forehead gently. As usual, they headed to their bedroom together. It was nearly midnight. Jisoo, like always, waited for him to come home.
While she lay beside him, Taehyung grabbed his phone to scroll through his messages. His group chat with his friends was flooded. He muted the notifications—they'd never stop talking otherwise. But something made his finger pause mid-scroll.
A photo had been shared.
bunny uwu <3: "Okay what the hell. She's so beautiful. What the fuck."
sleeping suga: "Who's that? She has a doll face."
short man: "Bro... she's a human Barbie."
joonie: "Wait—did I miss something?"
bunny uwu <3: "Hyung @tiger I know you're interested. Stop pretending to be loyal lol."
short man: "Agreed. That girl is hot. No joke."
bunny uwu <3: "C'mon hyung, you know you want her. She's the most famous girl at the club."
sleeping suga: "Go get your girl, dumbass."
joonie: "Stop it. You're ruining his marriage."
Taehyung stared at the picture. It was Lisa. He had seen her around before—she was always at the club, always the center of attention. But he had never paid her much attention. She wasn't his type. She wasn't Jisoo.
That's what he told himself.
He closed his eyes for a moment, breathing in slowly. He needed a break—from work, from pressure, from the noise in his head. Maybe going out for a drink with his friends would help. Just for a while.
He looked over at Jisoo, still fast asleep. Her face was so peaceful, so innocent. He leaned in, kissed her forehead gently, and whispered a soft "I'll be back."
Grabbing his phone, he texted the group. "Coming to the club. Just need a drink."
He drove calmly through the near-empty streets. It was past 2 a.m., but he didn't care. Jisoo might wake up soon and notice he was gone—but he'd be back before she could even worry.
The club was alive. Music blaring. Neon lights flashing. And, as expected, girls were already trying to flirt with him the moment he stepped in. He ignored all of them and went straight to his friends.
He sat beside Jimin and Jungkook.
"Interested in her?" Jimin asked with a smirk, chewing gum like he already knew the answer.
Taehyung only shrugged, not admitting how Lisa's face made something stir inside him.
He cracked open a beer, trying to shake off his thoughts. Jisoo wouldn't like this—not one bit. She hated places like this. She knew girls like Lisa were always around.
His friends eventually hit the dance floor, already drunk and wild. While watching them dance, Taehyung felt a soft hand slide along his thigh.
He turned—and there she was.
Lisa.
Wearing something that barely counted as clothing.
He gulped. His body reacted before he could stop it. He quickly pulled away, trying to keep control. Lisa just shrugged and walked away, clearly unbothered. She wasn't the type to beg.
Lisa knew her worth—and everyone else did too. She wasn't just a pretty face chasing after men. It was the men who chased her.
Taehyung watched her disappear into the crowd. He ran a hand through his hair and let out a rough sigh.
Why was her image stuck in his head?
He looked around at his friends and found Jin.
"Hyung, I'm leaving," he said, cleaning up his side of the table.
"Alright. Take care."
Taehyung didn't wait. He went straight to his car and drove home, the image of Lisa still burning in his mind.
He opened their group chat again, looked at her picture one last time, and threw his phone to the side.
She was too beautiful. It was starting to drive him crazy.
When he arrived home, he rushed inside. Jisoo was still asleep.
He cleaned himself up and quietly got into bed beside her. His guilt returned like a storm. He didn't do anything wrong... but it didn't feel right either.
He kissed her forehead and gently rubbed her back.
