Shadow/Chaos

I closed my eyes and concentrated. I felt the familiar feeling of satin silk across my skin like water. I have done this many times before.

I opened my eyes to see black covering my arms. The black makes it look as if I am wearing gloves of liquid silk satin. Yet it still feels the same each time.

I look up to see my parents face filled with pride. I see my brothers beside them looking at the black matter and me in awe and curiosity. The first time I summon shadow in this life.

I smiled knowing I made them happy. I was three at that time. It is very common to us to first use our powers amongst the ages of three and four.

I snap back to reality and look down. They are fighting. We're at war. I'm safe up here. They are not. I look behind me and find my friend talking to his sister of something urgent. That memory calmed me down.

I close my eyes and summoned shadow as effortlessly as the always. I make them form a frame. I make them form feathers. I make them form (passive soaring) wings.

I wont be able to hold together something with such complicated structure for too long. But I can hold the structure long enough for this.

I flap my new wing to test it's strength. I open my wings as far as it will go.

I took of. I rose to the sky. I felt free. For a moment I felt at peace.

I t only lasted a second.

I tucked my wings in.

I dived.

I let my wings out.

I landed.

I ran.

I dogged.

I jumped.

I hid.

I tripped them.

I ran.

I saw them.

I ran.

I summoned my scythe from the void.

I parried.

I dodged.

I ran.

and ran.

and dodged.

and parried.

and ran.

and ran.

and ran.

and dodged.

and I ran.

I stopped the rubble from crashing a family. I used the shadow and manipulated the air around me.

Triplets.

A mother.

A father.

A grandfather.

A baby.

And a friend.

Mason stood beside me. He helped keeping the rubble up with his telekinesis.

The family ran out and followed Hisoka and other civilians to safety.

Mason and I let go of the rubble and looked at each other. We ran in opposite directions.

A/N: What do think of this? Tell me what you like and what you think I could improve/fix in this writing.

Ignore this if you want. I was reading Passerine Royal SBI AU and it got me in the mood to write something poetic. I paused while reading it so many times while reading it. It was partially to search the definition of words but mostly because I loved the story and the way it is told. I nearly cried so many times while reading Passerine. I'm on chapter seven right now. The way Passerine is written has become one of my favorite writing style.

So far the only fictional thing that has managed to make my cry was about the death of Jason Grace. I would have cried on Passerine Tommy's death as well if I only paused once while reading like I did when I read about Jason's death.

Fun fact I learned while reading Passerine is that the more attached to the story I get the more I pause while reading said story.

Well that was a long ramble. Thank you for reading reader.
