Blood Banquet

POV: Alex

I finish the last of the preparations for the banquet and go to the coat room to meet with Ray, Gray, and Rose. "Ray and Gray, that rhymes." I think to myself. I find Rose at the coat room and we wait for the other two making sure there is enough room for everyone's coats. When Ray and Gray finally arrive we talked while waiting for the guests to arrive.

Gray: "Hey, you guys look nice."

Rose: "Thanks. You do too."

Ray: "Is everything ready?"

Alex: "Yea. Everything's all set for the banquet."

Rose: "How many guest will there be again?"

Alex: "Hmm, about twelve I think?

Gray: "Hey guys, I think our guests have arrived."

The four of us went to the door to find my cousin, Luna.

We welcome her and I give her a short tour while complementing each other. In a few minutes most of the guests have already arrived. I helped lead them all to the dance floor and Ray, Rose, Gray, and I distribute drinks. Everyone was wearing red and black with some green pink and white.

Connor decided to take over distributing the drinks and Randy asked me if he could be the DJ. I said yes to him and he went over to the DJ table. I talk to the other guests as well and was surprised to find Joshua since he doesn't like attending events like parties. I was honestly enjoying my time with them and begin to think whether we should do the plan or not. I find my twin brother amongst the guests and we talk for a long time since it has been awhile since we saw each other.

I excuse myself and go to the coat room to think. Am I really going to do this to my brothers? My friends? No. Remember why you are doing all this. Why am I doing this again? To protect them. By killing? No. Not Killing. The Egg just needs agony, nothing more. I set my worries and doubts aside and head back to the dance floor.

Everyone has taken their seats randomly around the main table with a bowl of soup made by Rose in front of them.

Some of the guests stand up to say some words about "turning into a new leaf" which include of Logan, Susie, and Max. When they finished talking me and Gray gave a speech of our own saying: "The blood banquet will be an event marked down in history for everyone to remember." While giving my speech Ray activated a mechanism that allowed lava to surround the main table. I also noticed a humanoid figure hiding in the shadows and kept an eye on them without alarming anyone.

When I finished my speech the lava had already reached the floor but I have also lost sight of the humanoid figure. I ended our speech with "I appreciate everyone for attending this event.....LET US BEGIN THE FEAST!" A small maniacal laugh escaped my mouth as everyone noticed the lava and start shouting and panicking. 

Susie spoke up with a disappointed tone directed mostly at me since she knew me best. Rose replied to her with a serious tone "Susie...People change...We really do..." Susie looked into her stash where her weapons should be stored and came up with nothing. 

Susie: "W-WHAT!? WHERE DID- WHERE DID ALL THE WEAPONS GO!?"

Isa: "Susie. Everyone. I'm sorry, but there was no other way."

Isa's words confused everyone except me, Ray, Rose, And Gray. She walked towards us and handed over the weapons.

Gray: "Looking for this?" (brandishing/showing of the weapons)

Logan: "How- why-Isa....?"

Connor: "You may have our weapons but I doubt you prepared this." (said with venom, excitement, and determination)

Connor pressed a button on his bracelet and explosives fell and activated on the egg behind us. The five of us pretend to panic and act shocked. When the explosions' finally stopped and the smoke cleared, the egg is revealed without a sing fracture. I laugh at the reactions of the guests.

Luna: "How!? How did that not do anything!?"

Ray: "Well~ After Felix tried to...sabotage the egg we...upgraded our defenses."

Randy: "What is the true purpose of this banquet? Brother..." (Brother is said with confidence, venom, hurt, and disappointment)

Alex: "Well dear brother, the egg needs something in order to hatch. So, we hosted this banquet to get it."

Hisoka: "What is this something?"

Josh: "What about the speech?"

Grayson: "One, Agony and Two, the speech was part of the act to make sure we could gain your trust. Temporarily of course."

Max: "How could you do this. We're brothers. Twins even! You would do this to your brother? Your family? friends? (said in a confident, calm, hurt, and disappointed tone)

I closed my eyes and tried to hide my emotions. I felt a tear slide down my face. That tear gave the guests a glimmer of hope. I sigh out of exhaustion from bottling up my emotions and worries. He knows he will regret what he is about to say.

Alex: "Your going first"

Max: "What?...." (their voices are shaky) 

Isa guides Max into the sacrificial pit while everyone except Logan was in shock and disbelieve. How did it come to this?...

Logan: "Can the egg withstand a natural force?"

Alex: "What?..." (quiet and unfocused)

My vision is blurry, tears are threatening to fall. A random memory come to my mind that reminds me...Logan is immoral...Max doesn't have to suffer. At least not physically.

Alex: "Ray."

Ray guides Logan to the sacrificial pit to take Max's place. Isa drags Max to the others and they rush to check on him. Ray takes out a sword with with red tinted metal and roses engraved at the hilt. Rose brings out a bottle filled with my blood and spills the contents on the sword. Ray raises the sword with shaky hands, and kills Logan.

Susie screams at them to stop and runs toward her brother only to have the others hold her back. Logan screams in pain and agony as he is killed by Ray with his eyes closed. Everyone looks anywhere but the now dead body. I sea Susie sobbing and Max crying quietly while trying to comfort her. Susie looks at us with rage and hatred and says two hurtful words: "You demons." The tears I have been holding back come out but my expression is empty, hollow, neutral, unreadable.
