In My Feelings - Lana Del Rey

Well, seems like Jeongguk was left eating his own words after all.

He didn't know whether to feel surprised or slightly taken back when his familiar skating partner entering the ambience of the loud party, looking around with steady emotionless eyes and both hands clasped to his front, appearing like a little good student type of posture despite his cold unapproachable aura.

Jeongguk was still to his corner when Jimin arrived, now on his second glass of champagne while conversing with Seokjin about this new formation Hoseok has in mind for practice. Now he's half paying attention while he looks at Jimin moving his gaze around the ballroom, twitching a scowl and began to walk towards a table with the flute glasses and champagne.

It still hasn't sunk in for Jeongguk that Jimin actually even came here in the first place. Surely he would have not bothered to be in the same building as Namjoon, or around people he doesn't know, so what's his motive for attending this event?

Who knows, not like Jeongguk cares too much to know either way.

"Hey, isn't that your figure skating partner?" Seokjin also noticed the man now drowning one glass of champagne, now serving a second glass, "Well, looks like he isn't the only one trying to forget tonight."

Jeongguk doesn't remark anything back to that, only drinks his own champagne in a small sip while also locating his brother to the bar area of the ballroom.

With his own eyes too on Jimin as well.

That was all Jeongguk needed to see in order to completely advert his attention back to Seokjin, changing the subject to focus on something else.

Time passed by either too quick or too slow after that, now being an hour left before New Years with people now getting more hyped up than they were before for the clock to strike midnight. Jeongguk would be moving from between the bar and that glass window throughout the entire event, avoiding the eyes of people even though sometimes a few skaters did go up to him to try to talk to him. Luckily he would find excuses on how to avoid the situation, somehow, going back to being alone as he once was to enjoy looking outside instead.

However that didn't always work to his favor.

It happened with an athlete from the Curling team, who Jeongguk completely forgot what his name was, but the man wouldn't stop talking. Jeongguk could only smile and nod to seem polite, drowning in his beverage as he desperately tried making eye contact with anyone from his team to save him from the distress, but they're all too intoxicated or somewhere dancing to focus on him.

Not like the guy was an asshole, if anything he was sweet enough because he knew Jeongguk couldn't speak -well everyone knows he isn't much of a talker and thinks he's just shy to socialize, so he was doing all of the talking. But that didn't change the fact that Jeongguk just simply doesn't like socializing with people.

He can't even hear the guy well, so this was more of a one sided conversation. But good thing Jeongguk has grown to read people well enough on their expression and lips to understand somewhat of what they're saying or are feeling so he can react.
