Goodbye Hogwarts

14 February 1979

As per courting tradition, Regulus gave gifts to Diana.

After the ring he gifted her in January 1978, Regulus gave her gifts six more gifts between January 1978 and February 1979.

In February 1978, Regulus gave her a peridot-colored acromatula silk scarf that was decorated with serpents.

In June 1978, after finals were over, Regulus gave her a brooch decorated with ravens encircling the Celtic triskele. Regulus had said that it was to represent both his and Diana's heritage.

After Diana received her job at the orphanage, Regulus had brought a jade and opal bracelet for her. He said that the jade stones were meant to protect and support her loving heart, and the opals were supposed to intensify her emotions.

In August, before school had started, Regulus brought her a set of dragon leather-bound journals.

Then in December for Christmas, he'd brought her a pair of yellow gold mother of pearl earrings after she mentioned to Regulus that her family's magic reminded her of ocean waves.

On Wednesday, February 14th, after classes Regulus and Diana were in the Slytherin common room cuddled up with one another on one of the couches, occasionally talking to the merpeople who passed by when Regulus suddenly stood said he would be back.

Regulus did come back and presented Diana with another gift. This time the gift was a gold-dipped asphodel flower. Diana was always touched by the gifts, but this gift was unique as it was the first flower Regulus had given to her all those years ago in the greenhouses.

Ravens and asphodels had become symbols for the pair's relationship. The couple sat there cuddled on the couch, and Diana thought about how this was bliss sitting here watching the water cuddled up with Regulus slowly drifting off to sleep, the outside world unable to breach their peace.

10 April 1979

Over spring break, Lily and James got married.

The couple decided to have a simple ceremony with just their closest friends and family. The guests were limited to Diana, Barbra, Paul, Regulus, Marley, Dorcas, Frank, Amira, Pandora, Fleamont, and Euphemia. The pair mixed Muggle and Magic traditions with both parties having wedding parties, Lily wearing a white wedding dress, but still choosing to say Magic vows.

James's groomsmen consisted of Remus, Sirius, and Peter, all wearing Muggle suits with red ties. Lily's bridesmaids were Alice, Marleen, and Mary, who were all in red dresses. Diana wondered if the pair purposely used Gryffindor colors or if it was an Evans or Potter tradition to wear those colors.

Lily's sister had declined to attend, which Diana knew had hurt Lily. Still, everyone knew it was probably for the best that Petunia and her husband didn't participate in the wedding so as not to ruin the day for Lily with their prejudices.
