"Apparently he's some big director from New York. Honestly, I don't care who he is, I'm just glad I got a job." You excitedly explain over the phone, taking to your sister.

"That's it? He's just some director from New York?" Your sister questions, skeptical.

You smile to yourself, letting out a huff. You're sister was always like that, skeptic of everyone and everything that you had done. She was always looking for a bigger answer.

You didn't mind it though, your sister was all you had. Ever since you moved away from your family a few years ago she was your only support system, and you appreciated her for being there for you.

The two of you had been through a lot together, but you knew you could always rely on her when you needed to just call someone.

"Well, I mean, he has a kid obviously. Apparently his name his Henry and he's around nine. Charlie seemed like a nice guy, I'm sure it's gonna be an easy job." You tell her.

You were being honest. After running into Charlie at the coffee shop (quite literally), the two of you talked for an hour and a half or so.

He mostly just asked you questions about experience with children and availability when it came to your schedule. He spoke well and seemed to be kind, and was always making jokes with you.

While talking to him in that coffee shop, he also mentioned a little of his work. When he talked about his directing you saw the pure passion he had when he spoke, almost as if his eyes lit up.

It stood out to you. You hadn't ever met someone, especially in LA, so passionate about something. Usually people in this area just did what they had to do to survive, or were so self-indulged and narcissistic that it was painful hearing them talk about their passions and hobbies in the first place.

Even with just meeting him, you wanted to know more. He intrigued you, and honestly he was cute too. You knew instantly that you had to get to know him better.

By the end of the meeting he had told you that you had gotten the job and you excitedly thanked him, practically skipping out of the small cafe.

Ever since that day, almost three days ago, you couldn't stop thinking about Charlie. Although you had just met him, there was something about the way he was so kind and gentle with you.

Not only that, he was extremely attractive and you found yourself almost self conscious around him.

"I wouldn't get your hopes too high, even one kid can be a pain in the ass. When do you start?" Your sister asks.

"I'm actually supposed to go over just for dinner tonight, get to know Henry and get used to their schedule, stuff like that." You answer.

You mentioned it casually to your sister as if you hadn't been staring at your closet for the past hour, trying to pick out a proper outfit.

"I wish you the best of luck, call me after and tell me how it went. Love you." She chimes.

"I love you too." You murmur quietly, ending the phone call.

You toss your phone onto your bed, letting out a small sigh. You leaned forward, scanning through your closet for a moment.

You eventually decide on a floral sun dress, along with sheer tights and your combat boots. You hoped that your outfit was professional enough.

As you slipped into your clothing you couldn't help but think of Charlie again. You had never been this eager to start a new job, and you couldn't understand why.
