CHAPTER TEN—
T H A L I A's pov

IT WAS TWO weeks after the Emily thing happened. She hasn't said a word to me. I haven't seen one yellow sticky note on my locker. But even with that I still didn't feel right.

It was like her words lingered with me. Constantly reminding me awful things. Of course, I tried to forget about it. I thought that with her gone now everything would just poof and go back to normal, right? But no, it's not that easy.

The mirror was clean and shiny, though I found myself continuously wiping a rag onto it in hopes that there was something on it. A smudge maybe. But after a few times I realized that there wasn't, it was just me.

I rested my elbows onto the dresser, my head falling into my hands. Fuck. Why am I still letting this stuff get to me?

With a sigh I shook my head and turned away, looking down towards the drawer below me. After some time of searching. I decided on a pair of black overalls and a simple white shirt underneath with my usual white converse.

Taking a clip from the drawer I clipped my hair back into a half up half down. With that I attempted to look back into the mirror but ultimately turned away and sighed as I walked out of the room.

I was sat at a couch, lightly stroking Lolas fur as she sat in my lap when suddenly there was a knock at the door.

With a soft sigh I slid Lola off and stood up from the couch to walk over. I opened the front door, instantly smiling and feeling my mood brighten once seeing who stood outside.

"Hi Benny" I smiled as I went to unlock the screen door.

He sent me a smile back. "Hey, you want to go to the sandlot?"

I paused, though I extremely didn't and was not feeling it. I put on a smile and slowly nodded. "Yeah.. whatever you want"

With that he smiled and held out his hand for me to take. I took it, looking back towards Lola who was sat at the couch staring at me. "Sorry.. I'll be back alright?"

Once waving at her I stepped out of the house and closed the door behind me. Slowly a smirk made way onto his face. "She still likes me more. You know that, right?"

My eyes rolled and I lightly pushed at his arm. "Pfft- shut up"

The time was just after the sun had set. Leaving just a light breeze to go through the air as it slowly crossed over to night.

Walking into the house there was mom who was of course in the kitchen whipping up something.
I sent her a wave and was near about to walk up the stairs when she stopped me.

"Wait, wait. Hold it you two" she called, pointing her finger to stop us.

Benny and I shared glances and with a sigh I stepped down from the one step I managed to get too. "Yeah?"

She waved us over, once we walked into the kitchen she cleared her throat and smiled. "Oh my two dearest. We must talk about.. the future"

My eyebrows knit together. "The huh?"

"Yeah! Like, ok look" she paused and suddenly pulled out a magazine out of her back pocket. "So I was just watching that wedding themed rom com movie. You know the one with Julia Roberts?"
